What color?
Now that you have seen my SVX, and my white wheels, what color should I paint it?
Feel free to leave links showing the color. |
Sperry did a thread like this a while back.
He photoshoped the SVX differant colors. Here's the link to the pictures of the svx in differant colors. http://www.seccs.org/gallery/index.p...s/SVX%20Colors Maybe this will help you decide. |
I think a Gunmetal / charcoal grey would be cool.

As much as I think some other colors would be sweet... unless you're planning on springing for a full paint job (engine bay, door jams, trunk, etc) I wouldn't change the color.
I really think SVXs look good in a dark gunmetal color w/ a black roof, and even thought about getting mine painted that color, but decided that I didn't want a half-ass, exterior only paint job, so mine's in the process of getting repainted factory Barcelona Red. Actually, it should be getting paint today! Then reassembled Mon/Tues, so I should have it by the next meet! |

Can't wait to see it. |

Black.... (but I haven't seen the car, but black and white look good.)

1) It's hard as hell to keep clean... ask Tyson! 2) Since the SVX came as a 2-tone (black roof, color body), I'd take advantage of that unique scheme and keep the black roof and get a cool body color... but that's just a personal asthetic that I like. All black still looks cool, but it's not as unique as keeping the 2-tone scheme. |
But he's going to run into the same problems with most of these colors - midnight purple and others. But yes, black is harder to keep clean. It's worth it tho - just carry a california duster in your car
My car has the two tone color scheme as well, and I do like that ... so go for purple, we can match. |
Actually I am indeed springing for a full paintjob. There are only 2-3 things in the engine bay that wont be painted. It would cost me 2 thousand more to just do those few pieces. However, 90 percent of the engine bay will be done, door jams will be done, inside of trunk, the parts that have paint on the inside of the moonroof will be done. And unlike most I don't like the two tone for some reason, plus My paint on the top half is shot(just like on the bottom half) so although I could keep the two toned, it would cost me an extra chunk of change. I am leaning to white because it is such an easy color to spray, easy to keep clean, and not to many people running around with white cars with white wheels. I do think a midnight purple would look amazing, But it would be hard to spray and I am not sure how fast it would wear off. To do the color they would use a violete toner as the base, and then a small amount of a normal base red for the actuall toner. They mixed me up a small batch and it looked hot.
On another note...should I or shouldn't I put my exaust resonator in when I have my exaust work done  |
V6's have a nasty habit of sounding near banshee like with the exhaust fully unrestricted..its cool..but everyday..all the time? if you can handle it go for it..anyways the way they are now thay sound near geo metro like compared to the STi's..so give it a try
|
Plus, I can always put it on after the fact =)
But I am not so sure I would like to sound like an STi without being able to back it up heh. |
Photoshop is a wonderful program that I hope to get someday. Back to the subject, one can't go wrong with a nice blue. Something like what the blue and white striped Dodge Viper GTS' had. I have something like that on my 91 Legacy.
|
SVX's look awesome in the WRB that's on the WRX's. It's very similar to the blue they originally came in. That's the factory color I really wish I had on my SVX... but red's cool too.
Blue > Sliver/Black > Red |
