I have a subscription. They are supposed to be available at Borders and Barns & Noble, but I've never looked for them there.

Is this new?(As into them carrying it) cause I went to Barns & Noble as well as the one over by the power company(Can't think of the name right now) and they both looked it up and said they found nothing :(

I guess I am gonna just have to subscribe.. I wanted to look at one before I decided..
OK cool thanks :)

Nick Koan 2005-04-19 07:23 AM

There have been 3 or 4 issues (it comes every two months), so its relatively new.

kidatari 2005-04-20 05:53 PM

I signed up for a subscription back when it was announced, and I still never got a single copy.

Hmm.. now that worries me.. :(
I am sorry to hear

The issue I saw was pretty mediocre, I guess the fact that I read about Subaru's online everday kind of makes a magazine useless, but you're not missing much.

So far I am not too impressed as well. They are just starting, so hopefully they will get better. They just did an article on that (sperry quote "monstrosity") ESX STI and wrote that "ESX even went as far as to include red stitching on the shift knob and steering wheel". That tells me they have never even been in a standard STI; and this from a magazine named Subiesport.

Nick Koan 2005-04-21 08:34 AM

Yeah, the coverage is mediochre at best. I have the subscription for the next year, but I barely skim through the issues.

You can start by addressing issues like this ;)

BTW, good luck charging for a forum that's jsut starting up, seems a little strange to me.

cody 2007-10-16 02:21 PM

The forum is free...

sybir 2007-10-16 02:23 PM

I know there's some other benefits that come with the fee, just seems strange. Last thing we need is yet another suby forum :D

Yes, it is free to use the forum. We just have a special section for paid members.
Please see the membership levels here.
http://www.subieclub.com/levels.html

We had 1000 registered members in one week of opening the site. try it out. ;)

sybir 2007-10-16 02:38 PM

If you're going to answer SubieSport questions ,and you're going to push your forum on our forum, please address our member's concerns for a paid service that has not been provided.

Thanks,

That post is over 2 years old. I hope it has been resolved by now. If not, the mag and the potential subscriber are slackers.

sybir 2007-10-16 02:53 PM

If he bumped the thread to invite questions, he gets questions about unresolved issues. Simple as that.

Nick Koan 2007-10-16 02:55 PM

Like he's ever coming back. It's probably just hit-and-run spam for their magazine and forum.

sperry 2007-10-16 04:11 PM

The thread about the SubieClub forums over on NASIOC was pretty entertaining. I'll just copy what I said there to here:

Except in the "it costs $30" sense of the word.

As far as I can tell, the only difference between NASIOC and this SubieClub idea, is that NASIOC is self-sufficiently organized by its own members, while SubieClub offers to organize things for a fee.

So, for SubieClub to succeed, they need to demonstrate value. Show potential buyers they can do it better than the people that are already doing it solely for their love of the enthusiasts community. Their big problem is that they're going up against some well established people that run things pretty smoothly. WBM is huge and well orchestrated; the Mt. Hammy deal goes off pretty well; lots of people already have the access to tracks at reasonable prices through their own local means, people have always had local meets, BBQs, gatherings... Unless SubieClub is bringing the subaru equivalent of hookers and blow to their deals, they're not really offering any value for the cost of joining.

Nick Koan 2007-10-16 04:15 PM

Wait, don't we still offer hookers and blow to all new members for free

Or was that just the deal when I joined up?
