Fernley road course

Did I already mention, the news that the first 1+ miles is paved?

(I don't want to get one of those "WTLW" spanks.)

It's a good first step, and NASA is scheduled to hold 2 driving event weekends there, July 19-20, and Aug 9-10 (both are also autox weekends, :x )

I heard they were under a tight schedule to get it done. I was told way back when it's a 3 mile road course, but can be run as two 1.5 mile courses. They were supposed to have one of the 1.5 mile courses paved for events this summer... looks like they're on schedule! (how refreshing!)

The real question is... can we go and run the unpaved 1.5 miles?

I cant wait to go race there.

MattR 2003-06-04 12:33 PM

They should leave one of the tracks unpaved

Pavement is for pussies.

ZER026D 2003-06-04 05:53 PM

Or for people that are droped 2-3 inches with body kits.

Thought I would let you all know that I was told that the course is now booked for the next 5 years with different events, I do not know what or when. I will be getting that info later.

ArthurS 2003-06-09 05:56 PM

Thanks and let us know. I want to do my 1/4 mile at some point.

Trust me, No you don't

ArthurS 2003-06-09 09:15 PM

Yea I do. I know it will be super slow, but still curious before I put any power mods on. Something to work from I guess.

MattR 2003-06-10 05:54 AM

Yeah, that is the best way to guage the effectiveness of new mods...with the exception of a dyno of course.

ArthurS 2003-06-10 06:31 AM

Is there a AWD Dyno in town?

Solomon 2003-06-10 07:31 AM

not that I have found.

Nearest AWD dyno is Vishnu's in the Bay Area (Pleasenton) I believe.
