Thanks guys!

I just thought I'd post to say thanks to everyone who helped me out as Sunday was my first time ever at the track. I'm sure not all the SCCA people are here, but the Subaru crowd was really friendly in particular and I had a ton of fun. I felt really comfortable and no one made me feel like a stupid newb even though I know I was! I definitely will be back to do this more.

Nice job. I saw the 12 second improvement and I was very impressed. Hope to see you at the next one.

Yeah dude, you did a great job on sunday. Now it's time to make it a weekly commitment!! the more you drive, the better you get, the more you HAVE to drive. It's a great circle of addiction!

weekly? are there actually events that often? Hey...question on tires for you guys: how often do you rotate and how do you weigh in the heavy driving of an autox event?

Nick Koan 2005-08-16 08:50 PM

man, you're car makes me want an exhaust badly :p

I generally rotate after every autox weekend or track event, or more accurately, just before them.

The schedule of events is on the Reno SCCA website: http://www.renoscca.com/

Click on the yellow "event schedule" link at the top of the page, and look for all the "Solo 2" events. There is only one more autox weekend in Stead for this year, the first weekend in October.

For those most hard core guys, (Dean, Mike K., Matt R., Scott - when his car is running) they don't limit themselve to Solo II events. They attend track days at Reno-Fernley Raceway, Laguna Seca, Infineon Raceway (formerly Sears Point) and travel for Solo I and II divisionals. So it's definately more often than once a month. I'm not yet set for that much commitment, but someday soon.
