2.5L STI shortblocks still inexpensive?
People have saying that the price of STI shortblocks new from Subaru has gone up dramatically. Everytime I say you can prolly find one for under $2k I am told nicely that I don't know what I'm talking about. Since I'm curious, I went looking and the first place I thought of has them listed for $1689. I bet shipping would be around $100. I don't need one or anything, but I bet I will someday.

good catch. That is still a bit more then the 1k the cost from years past, but cheaper then the 2k+ retail I've been quoted.

That joke only works if you mention the Civics you got them out of. ;)
I bought one way back when they cost about $1300 shipped. The best I had seen after the price increase was around $1850 shipped. Subaru raised the price bsically because they were selling more blocks to tuners who wanted to build motors thna they could produce, and there was always a shortage around for people who were somehow getting new ones under warranty... |
