I know you are all fans of Disturbed so I thought you might enjoy this link. If you've already seen it, keep it to youself. Calling repost is for dorks who spend way too much time on the internet. :p

Oh, and Kevin has limited bandwidth, so right click the video links once you get to his site and "Save As" please.

Who is Kevin?

cody 2005-11-05 08:51 PM

The owner of the site.

Ah yes, good ol' Kevin.

Neat vids, though. :D

So, let's pretend the video on the site is 100MB... how is downloading it, rather than streaming it, going to save bandwidth? ...it's not like streaming the movie makes the file 80MB.

Hi Scott, the two reasons to save the videos are:
A) His connection can't support speeds necessary for streaming (in my experience at least). It may be throttled to inforce Reason B.
B) I tend to stream a video and then save it if I like it (RE: two downloads) or stream it repeatedly which can mean multiple downloads of the same video. If you dl it once and don't like it, you can just erase it.

So essentially, avoid streaming not to help out this Kevin guy... do it so the movie doesn't skip to all hell. That makes sense to me.

Riiiight, that's reason 1...maybe I wasn't clear in reason 2. Streaming a video usually means at least one additional download is necessary if you end up wanting to watch it more than once...

MattR 2005-11-06 04:34 PM

I'm off to stream some videos.

Well, if you've got a browser that's too stupid to cache a download, that's not my problem. :P

cody 2005-11-06 05:11 PM

No, it's Kevin's problem. :P

But on a serious note, in the past, his site has gone down due to excesive bandwidth use.

Do you like Top Gear? Here's "the motherload" of episodes that you can stream to your heart's content. :)

Either way they are some cool videos, I am not sure the wife would be interested in being the navigator on a sunday drive like that.
