Looks like I'm gonna have to take a trip to NY too... any chance we can get the weekend to coinside w/ GPC? Montreal is only about an hour or two by car from the rally IIRC.

MattR 2005-11-09 06:13 AM

I'm in...Looks like this event wouldn't make the calendar until 2008. Still, that would be a great addition to the WRC schedule.

Isn't Rally Mexico still closer?

I'm sure Rally Mexico would cost a lot more money than New York. Plus, if the New York rally is the week before or after Montreal, we can do both, as they're closer to each other than we are to Laguna Seca.

JC 2005-11-09 11:20 AM

Awesome, I wanna go.

Plus, Rally Mexico is in you know, Mexico. And Rally New York would be in... you know, New York.

You have a problem with the motherland?

Kevin M 2005-11-09 08:25 PM

It's not the Motherland that bothers me. It's the prisons that they'll likely try to throw me in for reasons I may never be informed of.

But weren't you some sort of bad-ass in the Army? Couldn't you just fight your way out?

MattR 2005-11-10 11:07 AM

I think I'd be more than comfortable at Rally Mexico. I've spent a lot of time in Mexico in my life and never had (many)any issues with the Federales, or the people. There's nothing to worry about there.

I think I might be more nervous at Talladega, AL

I've never had issues in Mexico either... aside from the "drinking too much" side-effects.

However, I'm gonna guess that a trip to New York would be far cheaper than going deep into Mexico... it's not like the rally is held in TJ.

MattR 2005-11-10 03:01 PM

Yeah, exactly, I think a New York trip would be a piece of cake, and probably not too Expensive.
