An STi in the snow?
Just curios, what settings do you guyy use in the snow?
Please don't foward me to an old post from last year. I have to go to Tahoe today, and I don't have time to look around. |
Brian, the auto setting works best for driving in light to moderate snow, as it's my belief that the computer is smarter than me in choosing the split. However, in heavy deep stuff, I like to run up at 50/50 or one triangle down. You'll find that as you lock the diff up (Forward settings) the car has more and more understeer, but you'll have a lot of power going to 4 wheels. You can play with it as you drive, you'll feel the difference..

Wow that is sick. I don't even have ABS lol.

If it gets deep I lock the diff for bomber traction, but Matt is right you get major understeer. However, at 7000 feet it is raining hard today. I think the snow level is well over 8000 feet today.

yea, but where its snowing, its gonna be 2+ feet

Trust me, even the peaks around Truckee are seeing rain. So maybe the very top of Rose and the highway may see snow, but it will be very wet snow if any at all. |

It was snowing on top of Spooner summit (Hwy 50) when I came back out of Tahoe. Spooner is just over 7000. Nothing major for right now. But I start a new job in Tahoe Monday morning. So, I am just thinking ahead.

Snow level is supposed to drop to 5500' tonight. So hopefully there will be a little snow to replace what the rain has been washing away. :(
