Garage Door Spring replacement?
Anybody know where to get replacement springs cheap?
Anybody done one before? I'm going searching for web links, but would like to hear from someone who has done one. I think I'll do both since they are equally old. Anybody want to help? |
Just get a couple hundred bags of these:

Thompson Garage Doors in Sparks is the best. I have attempted to help fix a spring once, they are pretty difficult.

I have also tried to replace a spring. Not only is it difficult it is also dangerous. I would HIGHLY reccomend you let a pro do it.

You'll put your eye out!

Dean, definately don't try it if you have never done it. Those springs are wound tighter than Pat's berries or at least so I'm told by Sperry!

indeed. Dean, I thought of another alternative...I've used a guy named Jim Lathrop a few times, he did my spring 2 years ago. Noice guy and independant so he's a lot cheaper than the big shops...He's listed under "Jim Lathrop Garage Doors"... |
