Track day Sat 12/10 at RFR!
1 Attachment(s)
Go this from RFR... Probably need to talk to Michele, Liz, Jeremy, or ET about what qualifies as a RFR Track Permit these days... I think an SCCA TT licence should suffice... I'll be at ThunderHill, or I'd go. Matt says this is $100 for a 1/2 day, ??? for a full day.

I signed up already, it's $100 for half day. See you there?
|
Also, you need to have the "RFR Track Permit" issued by RFR/ TNL Driving school. Or a competition license.

I have one but it says on the license that it is only valid for one year? Mike you should have gotten one at the SECCS Track day in 2004. Oh, I still have no tires so I am hosed. |

Thanks for the offer Dean. Unfortunately I have an '05. Looks like I need to work most of the weekend anyways. |
BUMP!!!!!
I ran the new section of RFR today...Temperature was 33 degrees almost all day long, definately the coldest temperature I've ever attempted to track in, especially since RFR required windows to be down all day ...Anyway, Mike K and Lucas came along and rode with me, it was nice to have some input from the passenger seat. The configuration we ran today was called the "Outer Rim", (the layout we followed when we got a ride at teh SCCA day pretty much) which measured exactly 3 miles around. There are some absolutley brutal off camber turns and blind approaches, it was incredible. Anyway, I have some video, I can bring it to the meet if anyone wants to see... Dean, hope you're having a good time at T Hill! |
The top section is a lot of fun. There is nowhere to rest, unlike the old configuration. There arte a couple of tricky turns as well, including one that it totally blind as you come over a small crest
With the extra track the course was around 3 minutes per lap, based on watching the clock in the car for a 20 minute session. A lot of extra space to play on! Matt, great driving, especially in the last session where you pushed a lot more on the new section. I can't wait for the next track day there! |
Damn, I want to see video... have they figured out how to run the full 4 iles yet? K walls, and tires at the cross over?

That looks really fun. I can't wait to get out there again.

The only difference in the config I ran Saturday is that you dump into the fishbowl instead of soming out on the old backstraight.
I gave my DVD to Scott and Nick, so they may have some video up soon. Guys, the track is friggin awesome. |

Step 1: record footage in a format playable on a PC. Step 2: awe fuck it, since step 1's already been messed up. |
Oops.

http://www.seccs.org/gallery/index.p...MattRFR-02.avi http://www.seccs.org/gallery/index.p...MattRFR-03.avi You will need the DivX codec. Download it here: http://www.divxmovies.com/codec/ You don't need to install the player or the Google Toolbar, but you can if you want to. The only thing you'll absolutely need is the codec. |
Links updated guys.
