No snow donkeys here - just fun!

So the cross-street to the one we live on is a long dead end that runs past a bunch of factories and offices. It's always empty on evenings and weekends, never watched by cops, and is essentially on the farthest outskirts of town, so there's no one to notice if you want to have some fun.
And today it was covered in snow, as were all the connected parking lots. :D Having never driven an AWD car in the snow before (aside from out to work and back today), I resolved to find out what my RS and a set of re92s could do. Scoobnuts, of course! But I was surprised by the level of traction the car afforded, even on the stock rubber. It took work to get it to break loose, and even when it did, it was always back on track almost immediately. The only real problem I ran into was the tendency for ice to pack in to the front wheel wells as I was sliding around, effectively reducing my steering capability to about 20%. Nothing a bit of digging around behind the wheels can't fix, but something I'll definitely be keeping in mind the next time I have to drive a moderate distance in heavier snow. I also took the opportunity to snap some decent night-time shots, something I had been meaning to do since getting my coilovers and SECCS decals. |

Good times

I never really have any problems with my RE92's but I knew they were not snow tires and drove accordingly.

nice! love the plates.

Do you work at Game Stop in South Carson? I've come to that store a few times to see my friend Ralph and I always see your car parked there.
|
Haha, Ralph's a popular guy around here. Bob Danger asked me the same thing. Yeah, I run the store. :)
|
Haha that is where I recognized your car from. How do you like the coilovers? You should post a review of them.
|
I like them, overall. I intend to review them, but I really want to hit the autox track with them. I may write it up in two parts now that I've had a chance to try them out in inclement weather, with the first part covering streetability and daily handling, coming as soon as I can find the time to write (i.e. after the holidays are over), and the second after the first autox of the season.
