It helps people if you post some general prices. Otherwise you'll only get people that are looking for exactly what you're selling contacting you, rather than someone that says "hey, that's not a bad deal..." and buys on impulse.

<-- Biggest impulse buyer in the nation. I'm good for the economy.

A1337STI 2006-03-03 12:51 PM

Thanks that's a great idea. (thanks)
so at what price will you inpulse buy my items ? :) lol

M3n2c3 2006-03-03 12:57 PM

Man, everyone's selling P7s right now. I had to sift through tons of 'em while searching for used rims on rs25.com, i-club, and nasioc.

khail19 2006-03-03 02:28 PM

I've got STi StopTech brakes, P7's aren't large enough to clear them. Not to mention that I've already got two sets of rims for the car.

I've also got a 2.5L STI block making 290/290 at the wheels... I'd be downgrading to ditch my Perrin FMIC for your TMIC. So yeah, I guess it would fit, if I removed all the FMIC piping that's in the way, and scrapped my plans for a top mount oil cooler, and replumbed the water injection/oil breather system/catch can plumbing. Oh, and retuned the car for less power. :P

A1337STI 2006-03-03 04:26 PM

boot yarr, is like saying "But yes"
and Oh, i was just going by the Car: '02 WRX / '94 SVX in his info area...
how's the turbo lag with a FMIC BTW? i've heard it adds some turbo lag due to the additional length of piping to and from the IC .

cody 2006-03-03 04:43 PM

FMIC Vs. TMIC does add lag, but if you have anything larger than a certain size of turbo (VF-22???) It's worth it for the extra power and more consistent/cool intake temps.

Edit: But most people are realizing a giant aftermarket TMIC is almost always a good way to go as long as you have proper heat shielding on the turbo and DP.

Edit 2: And a giant hood scoop helps too.

sperry 2006-03-03 04:58 PM

A properly designed FMIC will see almost no increase in lag compared to a TMIC. The old FMIC's with "custom" cores and under-engineered piping used to see a bit of lag, but new kits specifically designed for the car, that have piping sized for the application do very well with lag. Especially on the track, it's basically a non-issue.

In the same light, like Cody said, a good TMIC with proper turbo/exhaust heat shielding (to prevent heat soak) can have damn near the same performance as a FMIC, as long as you're not talking about cooling the charge from a massive turbo.
