I made it...
I wasn't at the meet this week as some may have noticed. Instead I was getting my wax attack on in preparation for today. I qualified to move onto the finals at the X-Games qualifiers tommorow at Sugarbowl. Out of 50 something athletes I qualified 24th, the last spot they were taking. So its an uphill battle from here on out. I did meet up with Ben Jacobellis (on the olympic team) and some other big names out there in the boardercross world that I haven't raced in years, and although my time tommorow doesn't look to good, it should still be a blast.
Hopefully I can make it to next week's meet. |

On a scale of 1 to 10 with one being not very fucking extreme and 10 being way fucking extreme, I give that a 10.5 dood! |
ahem... it's "9.5"
..."why don't you go jerk off to some snowboarding videos or something?" (I love that movie... ) |
The competition was sweet, I had to run on saturday. They only ran 2 heats of boarders before they called the competition off for the day. I was 2nd out of the gate and heading into the first corner riding on top of Paul Henderson's board, literally. In the apex of the corner my buddy got taken out and it caused a chain reaction into me which ended my run for X-Games glory early. It will be on TV sometime in the future... I'll post the air time when I find out.
They had to cancel the comp yesterday because the weather was soooo bad. The gate malfunctioned in heat 3, 1 of the gates didn't drop so only 5 out of 6 riders took off. The main reason for the cancelation was the TV production crew could not film. The camera lenses were filling up with fog and snow. A lot of companies paid big money out to sponsor this event and it wouldn't pay for them not to put out a TV show. I got interviewed by fellow palmer team rider andy finch about the crash and they said they would definately include it in the show. I still ave a collegiate race tommorow at Mammoth to round out the 5 days straight of race action before school starts again on tues. |
