How was everyone's 4th Of July?

Hope everyone had a good time. I am very worn out. Way to much wakeboarding and cliff-jumping. We have some great vid's though. Fireworks into kinda sucked. I normally go to the Lake, but gave Rancho a shot. Never again.

:D

Hella kick ass 4th with you guys!! I got to limp around the whole time.. but damn was that a blast!!

P.S. I agree.. fireworks were crap.

ArthurS 2003-07-07 07:28 AM

You should take a picture of your leg Justin.

Jumping off 55' rock + bad landing = Justin's leg

Can anyone say ouch?

ArthurS 2003-07-07 01:03 PM

Damn man. Looks worse now then it did after the hit. OUCH!!!!!.

Hope you still had some fun minus your leg!!!

STIwish 2003-07-07 01:22 PM

I had a blast... jump included... can't wait to jump some more!!!

ArthurS 2003-07-07 01:48 PM

Yea but hopefully that doesn't happen again. The ones at Yuba and Pyramid will be a little higher. 8)

For those that want to know what rock it is....here is a video of me. This is the same one Justin jumped off of, but landed a little wrong. Ignore the weird noises being made:

I'll try and just hop off and pencil it this time... instead of letting my weight fall back like i did.. damn fat ass!!! When you wanna hit Pyramid Art?

ArthurS 2003-07-07 02:42 PM

Not this weekend. Final weekend before my exam. Then the next weekend has to much crap going on, so probably towards the end of the month.

STIwish 2003-07-07 03:44 PM

You gonna come down this way one of those weekends?

MattR 2003-07-07 06:24 PM

Holy Shit! That looks like it hurts  ....

Anyway, I'm glad everyone had a good forth, and managed to stay out of trouble.

I spent Thursday through Sunday in South Dakota, at my buddy's wedding . I had a great time, lots of drinking, partying, etc... Small town America is an intersting place, I'll say that much,,,

STIwish 2003-07-08 01:46 PM

ACK!! the bruises have gotten worse... the big one has gone down to my knee and changed more colors.. and I have black and blue ones appearing everywhere else... and then another weird one going down my arm... *shrugs* damn I cant wait to do that again.

ArthurS 2003-07-08 01:58 PM

Damn man. It didn't look like you hit that hard. Guess you did!

I'm not a doctor, but I play one on the Intarweb.... and my diagnosis is that's not good. You might wanna go see a real doctor, just to make sure you're not bleeding internally or anything... that's easily the nastiest bruise I've ever seen... it looks like there's gotta be some broken bones under there.

nohandsonthewheel 2003-07-08 05:26 PM

Naah ... no broken bones or anything like that. Justin is Superman, in case you didn't know. He has survived all kinds of stuff and never had a broken bone. I think he fractured his foot once but that was from being a goof and jumping out of a tree in cleets.

PS I must be Lois but I don't look half as good as she does ... and when do I get to go on that midnight flight?

MattR 2003-07-08 05:52 PM

I think its time to amputate! Damn dude, sounds like you broke a blood vessel or something, that really sucks

ArthurS 2003-07-08 08:53 PM

I agree with Scott. You may just want to drop by the hospital at some point or even call them and see if it is a possible concern. Never can be too careful.

STIwish 2003-07-08 10:17 PM

I talked to my mom.. who is a nurse.. she just says its pretty nasty but its just going to extend outward for a while and then heal up... I'm all good guys, minus now i have a couple on my upper arms as well.

Justin, hope you're doing ok. Ow!

Dean & I raced in the Norpac divisional event at Stead. It was so cool to have raced with famous people. (Well, they are famous in scca and other amateur racing circles.) There were several national championship winners there, and I also had the opportunity to get coaching in a couple of fun runs with an Evolution Driving School instructor - quite enlightening.

My only complaint - I missed fireworks. I heard the Rancho San Rafael fireworks were short, like 10-15 minutes, while the ones at Sparks / John Ascuagua's Nugget were about 45 minutes.

There were plenty of "famous" people at the AAX event in Atwater... at least they're famous amongst AAX people...

AAX is cool, I ran one event and I got my yearly tech inspect back.
