Autocross!! 7/19 - 7/20, Stead Airport

The next autocross is this weekend at Stead!!

Saturday 7/19:

STX and D-Stock run 3rd session, right after lunch, and works 4th session.

Street-Tire (incl. NSU) runs 2rd session, right before lunch, and works 1st session.

Sunday 7/20:

STX and D-Stock runs 4th session, and works 3rd session.

Street-Tire (incl. NSU) runs 3rd session, right after lunch, and works 4th session.

I'm down to meet at Krispe Kreme at 7am on Saturday if any of the Street Tire guys want to meet up, or if anyone wants to come out early with me to help set up the course.

On Sunday, everyone runs and works the afternoon sessions, so there's no need for us to show up early, I'll prolly get there around 10 or 11.

I will not be able to run on Saturday since thats my test for the Series 63. I will be there for sure on Sunday.

MattR 2003-07-14 06:35 PM

Actually, I think I'm not gonna make it to KK tomorrow. I'm getting a new roommate this weekend, so I've been moving shit out of my office into my bedroom, and haven't had time to prep the car (swap rims, tighten my front sway, pack the tools, etc.), so I'll be doing that at 7am tomorrow instead of eatin donuts. :x

I should be up to Stead around 9 or 10 hopefully. I'll bring the shade. 8)

Cool, I'll do the same then, I don;t need any donuts anyway, but I'll see you up there at about 9:30

How did it go for everyone? I was busy all day Saturday, and was hung-over as hell yesterday. Damn keggers.

It was really hot, it was fast, the entire available space was used for the course. I think the course was about a mile long -- 2 sets of offset slaloms were a fun challenge.

There were squirt gun and water gun prizes & lots of opportunities to shoot each other with them as well as water balloons and other implements.

Mostly, it was hot.

I beat matt on saturday! :D
I don't know how, but I guess his auto really made him lug.
He kicked my as on Sunday though. :x
The springs were sweet to ride on. :P

Oh yeah, there were the drama elements to the weekend too.
Scott vs. Theo. Matt vs. Tyson. Debbie vs. Patty.
I thought I beat Patty on Sat, for the 1st time all season! On Sunday I found out the timer was delayed, and I was given Scott's time. I got to experience that word "crestfallen".

An Evo showed up. I think that was 2 drivers, and their times were decent although since they are in A Stock, their pax times were lower.

It would've been great to have STi vs. Evo - and I know Jim was there on Sat. but I don't remember if he was driving the STi.

p.s. on Sat. morning we had a moment of silence in memory of Lovell & Freeman.

MattR 2003-07-21 08:46 PM

Hahaha! Yeah, Tyson and I were joking that there were two races within STX, Scott vs Theo and Tyson vs Matt...Basically battles for 1st and 3rd. Sunday was WAY more fun for me, I liked the track better. Saturday I struggled with the track. I still had a blast though...there was definately some great driving displayed this weekend, way to go Debi on your win Saturday!!!

:( No win on Saturday. The timer was stuck on Scott's time, 69.1, and my real time didn't show up on the display (72.something). So the announcer, the timing slip person, and then me, thought I had the 69 second run. Then to top it off, my best time of 70 something was in the Evans' car (when John & I traded cars for our 3rd runs)!

really??? That sucks, I am so confused, good drivng anyway...
