I killed my STi.

I'd get angry, but I'm the only one to blame.
And anyway, no likes an angry drunk.

Driving (approx 30-35 mph) home last night on SB HWY 49, just South of Auburn, I had an encounter with a mountian.
Well, part of a mountain anyways.

I shant bore you with the details, but here's what I learned:

-AWD doesn't mean dick if the wheels aren't on the ground.
-AWD will not make up for driving skill, or rather, the lack there of.
-Mountains always win. Always.
-While cars can be repaired/replaced, the Frail Male Ego cannot.

Pictures of the carnage

Sux...

I hit a mountain once. No wait, make that twice.

Sucks dude :(

MattR 2006-03-09 10:01 PM

I have to give you credit, you finished the stage.

Damn, that road claims a lot of cars...Glad you're okay though.

I want juicy details...Did you go off a sweet jump or something?

Man, that's pretty shitty dude... the damage to the C-pillar is making it look like a total loss to me. :( 'Course, if you let them total it and buy it back, you've got a spare STI drivetrain in the garage in case you "over do it" a little while tuning the '06 you should go buy. :P

Good luck man!

I was thinking it was from the wheel spinning against other metal. http://www.wrxfanatics.com/html/emoticons/iono.gif

My guess the metal stuff is from the aluminum lath created goofy positioned wheel. Shavings of the BBS's.

OUCH! I am amazed that you were able to drive it home with the wheel cocked like that. At least you walked away unharmed.
