Another good wheel deal...

It seems like the technical forum has all the wheel/tire posts, so I'm putting this here. Feel free to move this if it's the wrong section. Some good deals at Tirerack right now if anyone's interested.

Speed Star D5R in Light Grey or Bronze, 18x8 ET50, 23.4 lbs, $169 each

That's, ahem, retail price? Even if not, that's awesome for those GT7s. Any idea when those new Motegis will be in stock?

Those D5Rs are a bit on the shiny side, aren't they? :P

You guys are hilarious. 23.4 lbs is not that heavy. Sure it's not light either... but you guys seem to forget the days of 40 lb chrome 3 spoke wheels.

And don't even get me started on what 24" SUV rims must weigh.

The stock Stealth Chromies are probably in the 30+ range and they are 17x7.5 if I recall. Cory will back me up on how heavy the suckers are, so some of us remember...

Speaking of wheel weight, does anyone know what the weight of the stock 18" Spec B rims are?

Dean, you remember the days when wheels weighed 1.2 tons:

(I know, obvious joke... sorry man!) :P

Yeah, those ones must weigh at least 4 ounces :p (1/10th scale truck rims FTW)

But yeah, 24 pounds is an average aftermarket wheel, we get spoiled by the uber-lightweight stuff we're running. Hell, even the "cheap-ass" rims in the Subaru world are usually under 20 pounds apiece.

 I did a search for 3 spoke chrome wheels and all I got were model wheels. I think the era of the 3 spoke is finally so dead, the only way to get a car with 'em is to build a model of a car from the late 80's.
