Hello From Seattle-Everett
Just took the first road trip with the 02 Wagon. Made it to Medford Oregon in just under 4 hrs. Got about 300miles on that tank, probably about 29 per gal. That drive from Susanville to I-5 on 44 then 89 is awesome! My own personal GT drive, not very many people on the road and could open up the subie just a bit. Before anyone squawks, I only got to 100mph once, on a straight in the passing lane. Averaged about 75 or 80 though.
Spent the night with friends in Meford Friday, then left for Everett about 9am Sat. It rained the entire state of Oregon, Snow over Grants pass, and pouring rain all the way to Everett, got in about 4:30pm The blizzaks didn't do to bad, but I could tell they weren't rain tires. Its amazing that people don't know how to drive in the rain, even where it rains every friggen day. Second tank of gas was about 270 miles but that was in the rain. The gas prices in Cali were over $3.05 Oregon was around 2.93 for Premium, so far in Everett 2.99 overall the A to B gas took about 2.5 tanks. So far the trip to visit the in laws has been exciting, got back to their condo about 7pm on Easter Sunday to find the place overrun with Firemen and paramedics. The condo right next to my inlaws had a kitchen fire, they share the same wall as our kitchen. luckily for us, only damage was to the neighbors unit.....man that could have been alot worse, no damage to the inlaws, and my car was parked right in front of her apt! Anyway, just wanted to say hello from the great wet northwest! |
You are right... The run from Susanville to I-5 North is a load of fun.
And not only is Oregon gas cheaper, you don't have to pump it... How great is that? Have fun up there. |
dang, lots of shit going on up thurr!

Hello endzo.......I'm living in Everett now. I just got back from Portland tonight, and no.......the people in this state can't drive! It's just terrible. How long you in town? I've got the day off tomorrow. I'm gonna have Heidi's car, putting some new tires on it.... we should meet up for lunch if your not doing the family thing. Let me know.

Nick,
I am here till Saturday, then headed home, not sure whats going on tomorrow, but I will let you know about lunch, Tues we are headed into Sea for the Science Center and my wife thinks she wants me to take the kid and my father in law to a Mariners game. We are on the Corner of 100SW and 4th, right behind the Powersports Honda Suzuki place on Everett Mall Blvd. Dean, The no gas pumping thing freaks me out! The first time I tried to get gas in Oregon the dude comes flying out yelling and screaming " Get yer hands off that nozzle " I was like....OOOOKKKKKKK then he told me about the law. |
Your safe again here in WA, you get to pump your own gas here, just not in OR. Cool, let me know if your up to catching lunch. I work the rest of the week. Just give me a call. I'll drop you my cell # in a PM. Hope you have a good time.

Well the first tank only took 10 gallons to fill, then the second tank took 11 gallons to fill. When I got to Portland I filled up and it was 13 gallons.
