car does not start now after CAI install
So I go and install the CAI and all goes fine....until I try and start my car! The car turns over but will not run. The only thing I can see different was the air temp sensor had to be removed and installed into the INjen intake. Does anyone have JC numbers, he has the setup on his car. Oh ya my Check engine light is now on.

This may sounds dumb but, did you check to see that the harness is on the right way ??

I took off the whole intake off of the manifold to see if any air was getting in. still nothing. I disconnected and reconnected the Air sensor and even removed it a few times...I do not know if the battery was disconnected or not when making those changes. I have to go back tonight and try some more things. I am thinking that I will disconnect the battery, disconnect the sensor for about 10 min. Then reconnect the sensor, then reconnect the battery. Try to turn over the car without stepping on the gas peddle and hope. If that fails I will leave it all connected and pull the ECU fuse out, wait 5 min, then re-connect the fuse for the ECU. See any problems in this?

Sounds good to me .. I dont see any other ways to be able to check it with out JC's or KHAIL for that matter... Hey , there is a thought... Instant Message "Khail19" to see if he knows what to do in that case ...
Good Luck !!! |
Intake sensor? Do you have a picture of your engine bay?

It's got to be a sensor issue of some sort... I had my intake in pieces once and everything started up fine, since I never disconnected the MAF. Basically, the motor should run (albeit poorly) as long as all the sensors are hooked up, regardless of the state of the intake.
Hey JC, shouldn't he get some sort of CEL if there's disconnected sensors? |
N/M saw he got it fixed.
