WTB: super cheap subaru
Looking to buy a cheap subaru (prefered Impreza) I'de love to find a 2.2L but would settle for a 1.8L . AWD + manual is a must . running is a bonus . i found one 93 impreza 1.8L in reno (ad says clutch is shot/ gone) they are asking $500. something like that for a project subaru beater car. :)

Cheap and Subaru are rarely in the same sentence.

Plus there was Subaru's own ad campaign: "Inexpensive, and built to stay that way." http://www.cars101.com/subaru/subaruad1984a.JPG Not "cheap" verbatim, but it's basically the same thing. With the exception of the SVX, it's only in the last 5 years or so that Subaru has been really pushing towards the expensive end of the market. |

Finding a $500 Subaru that doen't need quite a bit of work, is well.......near impossible. Finding a "cheap" subaru that is less than 10 years old, again that has fair miles (under 200k) and still runs well (i.e. not needing something major worked on or replaced) for under $1000 will difficult to say the least. Now I know that the next move would be to search and find an example to prove me wrong. So who's first? |
It's all relative. Subarus can be found cheap relative to other manufacturers. All depends on the market. There are a few older subies in Truckee for sale. I'll try and stop to see what they are asking.

yeah I saw that a while ago. I probably would have jumped on it, but all my spare cash is going to pay for my dad's truck right now.
