The Descent

This movie was very very enjoyable and I can honestly say that it is one of the best horror films I have seen in a long time. The all female cast delivers superb acting and the character development is top notch, even for the characters that don't make it to the end.

This movie also contained wonderful cinematography and overall really put you into their world. It is one of the few movies where I felt sympathy not only for the "victims" but also the killers. I can't really go into detail without ruining certain aspects of the movie.

I will say this, the last 10 seconds of the movie blow. They changed the original ending for us Americans...BAH I SAY!

So who gets the "good" ending? I've been thinkin about if I want to see this or not.

Saw it Sunday. Pretty good. I thought it was one of the better horror flicks I've seen in a while, that wasn't a remake of a '70s-80s blockbuster.

Worth it, and there's some SWEET gory parts that even made ME cringe...

Looks like a creepy movie... I'll probably rent it, as I'm not much of a horror film fan and don't want to drop $20 on seeing it.

This movie is already out on DVD...this is a re-release. This came out in England long before I had heard of it, plus you will get the good ending...which made the movie 10x better for me once I knew what it was.

One other thing, see this in the theaters, hell I will pay for your ticket. This movie can only TRULY be appreciated on the big screen with surround sound. A lot of this movies sound had excellent directional effects that my 700 dollar home system could not reprouduce like it was in the theater.

I thought the movie was pretty good compared to a lot of the shit thats come out lately. It actually had some good suspenseful moments in there and played on peoples natural fears (claustraphobia) as well as the normal monster/killer/zombie plot.BTW, I am a HUGE horror movie fan. I've got the movie collection (and tattoo's) to prove it

JonnydaJibba 2006-08-08 07:16 AM

So Duckie you mind if I get that $8.50 now or later? ;)

So the EXACT same movie, minus the ending, is on DVD now? I mean it's all the same? Except the ending?

Duckie 2006-08-08 07:49 AM

The EXACT movie is out already although you would have to search HARD for it. It also has the BETTER ending.

However if you go see it in theaters I will pay for your ticket =).

van 2006-08-08 08:51 PM

or if you want the "better" ending I can hook you up with a copy of the dvd ;)

JonnydaJibba 2006-08-15 07:18 AM

Now I know why you were saying to see it in the theaters. Some of the cinematography just wouldn't be the same on a small screen. I'm gonna see if I can find the other ending. This one was pretty standard. All in all an interesting movie to say the least.

Duckie 2006-08-15 11:41 AM

When you watch it on the big screen you feel as if you are in their situation, you feel like your in a cramped space. I had friends in the theater who actually had to look away from the screen every once in awhile to remind them they werent in the cave.

JonnydaJibba 2006-08-15 12:30 PM

Yeah it did make me feel very clastraphobic. Gory ass movie tho. So what is the original "good" ending about?
