Banner is on order, hopefully we'll have it Friday!


Okay, last I heard the banner was going to cost $135+tax for a 9'x3' 13oz banner. There is the off chance we can get it for a little cheaper than that, but $135 is already pretty well discounted (it's $5/sqft... most places charge $6/sqft).

So we need to take up a collection for the banner. We need 7 people willing to throw in about $20/ea to cover it.

So far the people that have expressed intrest in helping out are:

so it looks like we only need a couple more people. If you're willing to help out, please respond in this thread with the amount you can contribute! If we can get this together ASAP, we might have a banner for this weekend's autocross, but I think I'll need 7 people confirmed by the end of today (8/5).

I think what ever is left over .. (We should appoint a treasurer) we should put it towards the extra curricular activites that Scott has in store for us ( Show & Shine .. Etc...)

Sergio, that's a pretty good idea... the biggest issue holding us back from an official treasurer, etc is the issue of becoming a formal group. Basically, I'd like people to be able to make checks out to "SECCS" instead of me or whoever's the treasurer. Perhaps we need to look into registering as a not-for-profit group or something... anyone have experience in this type of stuff?

Yeah, I was the treasurer of my Jeep club, its really not hard, all we have to do is go to the IRS building on Moana, get the proper form to apply for a nonprofit group status, we will get a tax id #, then we can go open a checking account under seccs. Norwest bank (now wells fargo) hooked (my jeep club) us up with a free checking account since we were non profit, all we had to pay for was checks and overdraft fees if any. The account needs to have two names on it, like a president and treasurer or something along those lines, that way more than one person can write checks if needed. I'm sure we could find a bank that would give us a free checking account. I have a favor I could cash in now that I think about it. We should explore this some more for sure. It really is nice to write and cash checks as the club name.

BTW, I think it is really cool that we have more than enough money pledged for the club banner, and on such short notice, very cool indeed.

Very True SCOTT/MATT!! My parents are Presidents of a Non-Profit Org.
and yeah it FEELS nice to write checks with the Company/Team Logo on it 8) I am happy to see this is slowly but surely becoming a recognized and very well organized group of individuals or Enthusiasts that not only are out to RACE or HAVE fun but to make new friends and share each others EXPERTISE as well as enjoy each others company and again learn new and exciting things . Because after all, how boring would it be if all we did was street race and mod our cars ..
I remember when I first Met you guys .. You guys were really nice and welcomed me with open arms even though I am not a Subaru Owner..
You see, this is the kind of spirit and willingness that has gotten us/You all to where we are..

Hey Sergio, in this pic the car looks like its ready to go on an off-track excursion (looks like there's a berm there at the bottom of the picture, something you'd normally apex at on a road course). Japanese driver? Nice Pic!

And actually its on a reg road course but its "Drifting" and yeah Japenese all the way I thought because its a RHD (Right Hand Drive)...

I called Linda at One Stop Sticker Shop about the Banner. She's putting the order in ASAP, but since the material comes from the East Coast there's only a slight chance we'll have it before this weekend. She said she'd do what she can to get it to us as fast as possible.

I actually missed my BNI meeting this morning with her. I was at my booth at Hot August Nights till 10 pm. Now another day of working out there from 1 to 10 pm. Legs.......hurting.......

Hey Art, any info on the business cards? Were those just laser prints? Should I come up with a version that's got a lighter flag background (or maybe no background)?
