The wheel whore........abides. 18x8 Superleggeras FS.
The goods:
18x8 OZ Superleggeras, ET51. Dark Silver color 225/40/18 Falken Ziex-512's, M&S-rated. Not as grippy as UHP summer rubber, but they are super quiet and will last forever. Less than 3000 miles on the tires. I have both styles of OEM center caps, the color-matched with red text, and the polished with black text (on in the pics) These are super-light, at 17.6 pounds for an 18x8, with a super-light tire. Now, the only crappy part. One wheel has a minor kerb, about 2mm wide and about 2 inches long. All of them have some corrosion of the finish on the sides of the spokes; I think the previous owner used some evil wheel cleaner or something. Faces of the spokes, hub, and outer rim look perfect. You could paint or powdercoat them, or do wha TI do and put the two worst wheels on the front and cover them with brake dust within a week and never notice :D Tires are almost new, and cost me a hair over 400 mounted (retail is 500+). Rims I bought used and got taken for a ride ont he spoke finish, so I'll eat a good chunk of change and let them go for $1000, which is a steal for superlight wide 18's. I have matching silver (not chrome) Mutekis new in the package that I can toss in for another $30 or so. If you want some burly looking brakes to go under them, I currently have a line on some 298mm Stoptech 4-pots; these are a stock-diameter rotor, but are otherwise identical to the 328's on my car, with beefy, vented 2-piece rotors, and the killer ST-40 calipers (in anodized/flat black). New in the box, never been mounted, retailed for ~1800, looking for 1200. Pics of the rims on my car, they're currently stacked in the corner of my garage. http://www.hooptywagon.com/img/DSCF2966.JPG http://www.hooptywagon.com/img/DSCF2971.JPG http://www.hooptywagon.com/img/DSCF2968.JPG I accept cash, check, CC through paypal, rubles, yen, rupees, pounds sterling, and, in some cases, pencil shavings. I'd prefer money, but if you want to trade wheels, make a convincing argument (and, given my propensities, don't try to sell me back a set of wheels I've already had on the car :p) |
If only those were gold... Why can't anybody sell me a good set of GOLD summer wheels!!!??!?
|
I have gold wheels... but we've already discussed this.

Dude come on, they are only 16s! I already have black 16s!
And to get back on topic, Sybir, what did you get to replace those wheels? They looked real good on your wagon. |
Gold Boosts ;)
I've always got a couple sets of wheels ;) |
[jedi mind trick]You will trade me for a set of OEM 16" WRX wheels with all-season tires..[/jedi mind trick]

Buy these, for the love of pete!
|
I would love them more if they were gold...
|
I'd buy them but Pete scares me

Sybir, I'm seriously watching these since my current summer rig is probably the worst choice I've ever made. When X-mas break is over and next semester starts (and I'm off of my snows), I may very well be coming your way with some dough if you still have these.
A couple Q's: -Were you able to fit those on struts (not coilovers) with only a fender roll? -Have you ever fit 235/18's while riding on struts? My wheelgap. Careful, you might fall in. Riding on '98 2.5GT wagon springs and struts. I'd say I dropped ~2" from OEM OB height. OEM wheel OD: 26.3" Current OD: 24.1 Winter tire: 24.7 Yours: 25.1 http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n...1/100_2740.jpg http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n...1/100_2734.jpg |
These were sold... I'll kick him in the nuts when I see him for not updating this thread.

As for fitment, I only ran these on coilovers, with a pretty severe roll/flare in the back. A 235 would be way too wide without a coilover stiff enough to basically halt wheel movement. Basically, the only reason I can run big wheels and wide tires is stiff coilovers, otherwise I'd be rubbing hardcore. :| |
