WRX + Beach Sand

2 Attachment(s)
So Last weekend I took it upon myself to head out to go camping. I got my WRX sunk to the frame in beach sand :(. I had to dig it out... Wide Low Profile tires are a no-no for this landscape. (I also wore down my clutch a little getting it out even after the digging). It was however a good camping trip though.

Looks like Lahotan, I almost got my Lancer stuck there a few times, the trick is to keep your speed up.

Air your tires down also. its almost like driving in snow.
Glad you got out :)

I went through no prob 2 times, but then i stopped to check out a spot and tried to go and dug down. After that The tires wouldnt even move, not even at like 5k rpms feather then dump on the clutch. I had to dig it out, then i used my floormats under the tires and didnt stop once i was moving. If i wouldnt have stopped i would have been fine, but it was a pretty sweet camping spot.(of course im not that evperienced with a manual tranny, so a pro probably would have got it right out). Ps. Props to Danger, it was Lahotan.

In high school (Carson), I was the only one in my "click" who didn't drink, so I spent many summer nights driving people back from that lake.

You gotta air down for any real sand, like 8-10psi so the tires will deflect and grip. If you do that you'll probably be good unless you really ground the frame, then you're screwed. Be sure to take a tow strap & a shovel with you next time too. :)
