4 F*ing years...

So, I realised that today is my official 4 year anniversary here at Nissan of Reno. Came back from AZ on the 2nd of September, and got this job two weeks later. Now here I am, and I don't know if I should be proud and celebratory, or if I should go SHOOT MYSELF!!!1!1

:omg:

sybir 2006-09-20 11:50 AM

Congrats, or condolences :D

(your pick ;))

JonnydaJibba 2006-09-20 11:54 AM

Fuck yeah! OR Fuck no!

cody 2006-09-20 11:56 AM

Congrats Cory.

I just had my 6 year anniversary at my current job and I feel the same way. It's a good job that I enjoy, but you always find yourself wondering if there's somthing better out there...

MPREZIV 2006-09-20 11:59 AM

Yeah, I guess it could be worse. I'm pretty happy all together I guess, so I prob. shouldn't complain. Would like a bit more $$$ tho...

Nick Koan 2006-09-20 12:20 PM

Yeah, its a weird feeling, ain't it. I've just passed the two year mark of moving to Reno, and time has flown quickly.

Congrats (or whatever) on the 4 years of fucking.

JonnydaJibba 2006-09-20 12:24 PM

I'm coming up on my 2 years at Taxation... I think I wanna cut myself about it. Mixed feelings...

MPREZIV 2006-09-20 01:32 PM

I must say, it's nice just kinda being in one place for a while too. I had a BUNCH of shitty $7/hour part time jobs while I was in school, and I sure as fuck wouldn't want to do THAT again! It's kinda comfortable just to have a steady job, by comparison!

I sorta had the same feeling when I passed 5 years at IGT. I never planned on staying more than about 2 years at that job... but things have a way of working themselves out sometimes.

tysonK 2006-09-20 03:17 PM

at least you have a nice little 4 year stint on the resume.

I got 8 1/2 years at JCPenney. w t f. time flys.

No kidding. My summer job in 1990, fixing blinky lights on barricades in Eau Claire, WI, turned into 16 years and a 2000 mile relocation.

Damn I feel like you just moved there. Weird. I just passed one year of living in ATL. Seems like I just moved here and I'm already getting ready to leave in december.

Well congrats Cory, yeah for steady employment.

Ezdno 2006-09-20 09:40 PM

Congrats...I think taylor should kick out a new Titan for your 4th year.....you should ask him. Its the least he could do.

No I think trucks with crappy brakes and rear axles is fifth aniversary... 4th is some lame ass card and lunch if you are lucky. :)

Congrats man. I'm going to miss having someone I trust in LV... Hopefully the SCCA folks down there can hook me up.

I'm in the middle of my 5th year with the Gamestop/EBGames combo now. . . there are definitely considerable ups and downs to having tenure like that. At least I get three weeks of vacation starting next year. :)

MPREZIV 2006-09-21 06:46 AM

Well, there was no big celebration, but I didn't shoot myself, so that's a good thing I guess!!

Shit, around this place, nobody even CARED! Not even so much as a cupcake! Let alone any of the affore-mentioned free trucks, or lunch!! Ah well.

With the turn-around this place has been known to have, I'd think they'd make a BIG deal about someone making it more than 6 months!!!

 "Crappy trucks". Hey Cory, what would you rather have, a Titan, or a Ford that needed a clutch and then a whole engine?

JonnydaJibba 2006-09-21 08:14 AM

I think the relationship that I have formed with my coworkers is what has kept me here for so long. It really makes for a nice work environment when you like the people that you sit by all day.

Umm, can I take the "mystery prize" behind curtain #3? :P

Bob Danger 2006-09-21 03:46 PM

I think you should just open your own shop. Who agrees?

cody 2006-09-21 03:50 PM

I'd definately bring my car to "Black Cory's Automotive"! :P

Cory should go with "Innovative Auto Repair Solutions and Services" (or "Bad Ass Motherfucker's Innovative Auto Repair Solutions and Services")

I think we decided at the meet tonight that Cory needs to have some decals made up for those of us that have had work done. "Black Cory Tuning," or something of the sort. Someone should come up with a logo. :D

JonnydaJibba 2006-09-21 10:06 PM

Well Cory let me know today that I am now "official," as I have had my first set of RE070's removed in his shop

M3n2c3 2006-09-21 10:17 PM

Oh, snap. I thought he was trying to avoid RE070s from now on. ;)
