WTB: crazy cheap 5x100 wheels

I need a set of wheels I can put on the RS before they roll it away so I can keep the SDRs I just bought. Does anybody have anything that's collecting dust, and really cheap, and that nobody will mind watching rust in a junkyard? I have 16" tires I can spare, so bare 16s will be fine. Width and offset totally unimportant, so long as they bolt up.

JonnydaJibba 2006-10-05 11:07 AM

What's going on with your RS?

sperry 2006-10-05 11:10 AM

Um, junk yard steelies are pretty cheap.

Kevin M 2006-10-05 11:53 AM

Well, that was fast! Cohn came through with his stock TS wheels.

Dean 2006-10-05 12:11 PM

Did you eliminate another RS from the pool? JC is going to be pissed!!!

JonnydaJibba 2006-10-05 12:14 PM

Yeah details.

What the hell, you've had this car for like 2 months, what happened?

Dean 2006-10-05 12:27 PM

Kevin aparently is single handedly trying to eliminate the RS population from the planet.

2 down, n to go. guess you won't need to borrow my spare race wheels fo rthe weekend now. :(

Kevin M 2006-10-05 12:27 PM

 I got rear ended sunday night. Preliminary estimate this morning is $6500. So the car may be totalled, and it may not be.

Meh, this one needed to be euthanised or given a swap anyway. It was HAMMERED. Of all the RS coupes on the planet, this is the first one that I would put in the way of an approaching freight train.

As for the wheels... I'm going to call enterprise this afternoon and see if I can get a Subaru for the weekend.

That has to be over 60% of it's value. That is usually the cutoff.

Geez, somebody doesn't want you to own RS's I guess...

Also I don't want to sound like a vulture, but you gonna get what you can off your car right? The only things I could think of were the wheels and the taillights.

Kevin M 2006-10-05 12:30 PM

I've got everything off but the wheels. Hence the thread. :p

Possibly not. In Nevada, the car is totalled if the repairs exceed 65% of the value, not including paint labor and paint materials. So maybe $5000 of the estimate is body work, and the value of the car could be as high as $9500. I doubt there's more than $1000 of work hiding from view.

JonnydaJibba 2006-10-05 12:32 PM

Man whatta bitch. Why all this RS hate toward you?

Kevin M 2006-10-05 12:33 PM

Hate hate hate...

Kevin M 2006-10-05 12:33 PM

Hmm. This isn't much of a classified thread anymore is it?
