WTB, stock 2.5rs or wrx exhuast?

Looking for a cheap, temporary fix to an exhuast leak. Catback from a 2.5rs or wrx....cheap.

sperry 2006-11-12 08:14 PM

I got a whole stock WRX exhaust taking up space in my garage. I'll sell it to you cheap, but you have to buy the whole thing. ;)

...also, your post implies that the Vishnu exhaust you got from me is leaking?

van 2006-11-13 05:56 PM

no, I got a new project car. The vishnu is still sittin there waiting for garage tuning to send me my shit back(bout 6 months now). gonna have to do a hybrid setup now. I will give you a call later today if I still have your #.

van 2006-11-13 05:58 PM

just opened my notebook and saw that I didn't hit the "post quick reply button". I need your number again Scott.

Kevin M 2006-11-13 09:01 PM

You can borrow my stock OBS catback if you need to. I would say "give," except I'm going to need something to put on after this one gets smashed up and I take the Stromung off again...

^^way to be optimistic there Kev!

You probably saw the thread, but I guess the are just a bit behind.

I've traded "optimistic" in for "prepared" and "resigned to my fate" on this car. ;)

The thread? Is it about how they (Kevin) gave me the runaround forever till I asked just to send my stuff back, which was actually more than a month ago and guess what?, I'm still waiting, I have a fealling this won't be resolved till June

van 2006-11-14 05:08 PM

btw Thanks for the offer BAN SUV but it sounds like you better hold on to it just incase. Besides I'm not all that confortable borrowing some thing that I'm likely to break. I'm gonna wait to hear from Scott again or maybe get the one on craigslist for $30 if not.

Anyone else have a stock wrx exhuast they want get get rid of or perhaps (crosses fingers) loan me. I have to get my car smogged and the loud ass vishnu is bringing too much attention to the fact my car is swapped. Anyone know of a shady smog place that might overlook the fact that Im swapped? PM me please

Dean 2007-11-18 10:25 AM

I have taken all of my track cars with loud exhausts to the cheapest smoggers. (Imagine that... :) ) Express smog and GK smog, both of which publish coupons all the time. ($18,95, $20 respectively)

The young guy at Express smog at Pekham is nice and is happy to BS about cars while doing the test which I find helps. (He has an '98 A4 1.8T as I recall)

Since yours is <'95, I assume you are not OBD2, so you get the tailpipe test. It will pass that, right? You have a CAT?

van 2007-11-18 10:50 AM

I have a cat but I took to jiffylube in Sparks and the guy started asking me for paperwork and shit, He told me that He knows too much about cars to believe my car came with a turbo, He only popped the hood because of the loud ass rumble from Scotts old vishnu. It is obd1 but I need someone to not worry about looking under the hood:)

GC8.Love 2007-11-18 11:30 AM

I've got the RS's stock stuff around here.

Wanna put it on the Brighton sometime soon since it has a little "tight butt" tailpipe, and to get it out of storage..

But I'd be happy to loan it if you're interested!

sperry 2007-11-18 11:58 AM

Van, I've got my stock WRX exhaust still as well if you need it. Since the Vishnu is a turbo-back one-off design, you won't be able to just use the cat-back from an RS exhaust or anything... you'll need a full turbo-back replacement.

You can just borrow my WRX stock turbo-back if that'll get you through smog!

cody 2007-11-18 02:24 PM

Fred's Automotive on 6th.

Kevin M 2007-11-18 07:32 PM

I have a complete stock WRX exhaust I would love to give away, if Scott's offer of a loan isn't mroe tempting. :D

van 2007-11-18 08:53 PM

I appreciate Scotts offer but Im pretty sure I bought that from him a year ago and parted out most of it when I thought I wouldn't need it anymore:(. Do you have the whole exhaust from te turbo back Kevin? If so can we meet up and exchange this week? I will bring the grill I mentioned:)

Kevin M 2007-11-19 09:34 AM

I've got the complete turbo back, uppipe, and most if not all of the heat shields. :) I'll bring it to next week's meet, or you can come pick it up before then if you want.

 I could have sworn I had an exhaust of some sort stacked up in my garage rafters, but maybe not!
