Thunderhill Track event January 13-14(weekend)

Audi Club's annual 2 day Thunderhill Driver Education event. (1 hour North of Sacramento)

Audi not required to attend

This is a great track to learn on as well as practice advanced skills like trail braking, throttle steering, etc.

Loads of fun, and very safe, wet or dry. Excellent classroom and in-car instruction.

2 days at the track + banquet Saturday night, and event shirt = $395.

Sign up now, this event usually fills up.

Laguna Seca Track event February 19-20(Mon-Tues.)

Audi Club's annual 2 day Laguna Seca Driver Education event. (Audi not required to attend)

This is an amazing world renowned track that you can drive on. It is probably not the greatest track for beginners, but you can learn a lot and be safe as long as you leave your ego at home.

Excellent classroom and in-car instruction.

2 days at the track + banquet on the first night, and event shirt = $495.

Sign up now, this event fills up fast since only a limitd amount of cars allowed on course per group.

Dean, you always fail to mention that an Audi isn't required, but a membership to the Audi Club of North America is. Tack on another $75 or so, no?

Post Nazi is on the prowl.

I wanted them as separate posts as they were unique events with different prices, and possibly different discussion, etc. but hey, it is your board... :P

To answer your question, yes , Audi Club Membership is required but is only:
$44 - 1 year Add Family Member ($10 per individual):
$79 - 2 years Add Family Member ($18 per individual):
$108 - 3 years Add Family Member ($25 per individual):

Which isn't a bad deal especially for "Family members" and compared to other clubs.

I must say I did always enjoy the Audi events. Two days for the prices listed seems very reasonable. I don't think I renewed my membership, but I still get the quarterly magazine. I'll try for another one Dean. BTW these guys do party a little hard in the evenings I found at the last event at RFR.

OK, I got Movie Edit Pro 11 for free after rebate at Fry's a couple weeks ago.

Finally got it installed and ran through a short segment with PIP.

Not much passing, but some nice clean laps.

More to come time permitting. Probably take another hour to upload...

Thanks for the video Dean.

All teh segments I think I am going to do are up.

So what do people think of the PIP rear view mirror? The hardest part was getting the two cameras synched. I think I'll make a loud sharp noise like banging the mount or something next time. Fortunately I was dead stoped before them, so had that very first frame of motion to key off of. I need a mini movie clapper. :)

One running at 30FPS 640x480 and the other at 29.7FPS and 720x480 was interesting as well.

I like the cars disappearing in the rear view. (6)

The busier sessions are when I'm out checking up on the advanced students. It is fun to go out and see if they do what they say in class. The one car gets to follow me for a while and his line improves noticably, though he still won't drive over the rumble strip at the apex of 8, and most everyone is still very tight at the exit of 9.
