Ninja Warrior on G4...

...is the best show ever.

I've been watching it for like 4 hours straight while recovering from my hangover. It's like a new version of MXC minus the bad puns and crappy stunts... it's sweet!

I figure, if I'm going to waste a whole day doing nothing useful, this is a good way to do it!

van 2007-01-01 07:31 PM

Today was a waste of a good day off, recovery took too long :~:

tysonK 2007-11-07 07:52 PM

they are showing the all chick version. it's hot JDM action.

100_Percent_Juice 2007-11-07 08:21 PM

They need to construct a ninja warrior course between RFR and Herbies paintball.

zpeed 2007-11-08 07:54 AM

My kids love that show. As soon as it over, they all go on the play set. Doing Ninja warrior.

Ruhk 2007-11-08 12:58 PM

Ninja Warrior rocks! There is that one chick on the all chick version thats hooot. I can't remember name... :D

Dean 2007-11-10 08:17 PM

Holly crap. Have you seen the new "red" course? None of this wussy running and jumping. The first stage is an all new ass kicker.

On right now

tysonK 2007-11-10 10:02 PM

I like the new red course.

ladder thing is killer

Dean 2007-11-10 10:08 PM

The Salmon Ladder. And the new cliffhanger is unreal.

sperry 2007-11-11 03:51 PM

Oh damn!? New episodes?!

...I need to go home and watch. Luckily my DVR never seems to miss an episode of NW! (Hell, it even records stuff like ATOS thinking it might just be a sneaky hidden extra episode of NW.)

Dean 2007-11-14 05:14 PM

Tonight is Sasuke 18 pt. 1-4 (Red course) 5-7pm
AOTS Ninjafied 7-8
American Ninja Challenge 8-9
Sasuke 19 pt 1-3 (With American challengers) 9-10:30
ANC Wrap-Up 10:30-11:00.

100_Percent_Juice 2007-11-14 06:20 PM

American challengers always get destroyed. I have seen one black guy do it and I don't think he even made it past the first stage.

The American athletes tend to be big guys... like the Navy diver and the US Olympian guy. They're big and strong and can usually dominate the 1st/2nd stages 'cause it's mostly speed/power based. But they *always* get crushed by the endurance stage (stage 3) 'cause it's all about hanging from obstacles for long periods of time... it don't matter how strong and physical you are, if you have to hang 220 lbs from your finger-tips, you're not going to do as well as the 5'4" Japanese guy that weighs 120 with 3% body fat.

Ruhk 2007-11-15 12:45 PM

Aww man! I got excited about new episodes and turned to Ch-26 to watch them only to discover G4 is no longer 26 but some 100's thing that I do not get.

Aah well.

I am a rock climber and hanging my 200lb body from the finger tips takes gobs of endurance... I wouldn't go very far in Ninja Warrior... hahaha

The Americans that won the G4 challenge were in the same shape as the asian guys. True the one was pretty tall, yet that had nothing to do with his failure.

I think they made the first stage too hard for everyone. I also think the salmon ladder would be better if the top pegs were the same distance as the others.

Sure, but the two G4 guys make up about 20% of the Americans that have been on that show. The rest of the Americans do in fact tend to be too big for the course.

And the salmon ladder should not be a stage 2 obstacle. It's right in line with the stage 3 stuff... where you should be able to attack it w/o the clock running. They should just put the brick climb back there, or maybe something like a wall of rings or something new to climb, but not a strength/endurance element.

In fact, they should really move towards emphasizing one element per stage... make stage 1 all about speed/agility, stage 2 about strength/power, and 3 about endurance. The stage 4 climb is already about all of the above.

I agree that most would obviously be too big for some of the course. However, its because of errors made that they were eliminated, not because they couldn't fit in the spider jump or walk the globe grasp. IIRC I don't think an American has even made it to the globe grasp.

wrxkidid 2007-11-16 12:55 PM

Someone want to sponsor me to go compete? :D

100_Percent_Juice 2007-11-16 06:54 PM

not with your bum shoulder. we would all lose money.

wrxkidid 2007-11-18 12:38 PM

Give it time...give it time.

100_Percent_Juice 2008-05-19 10:16 AM

BUMP. Did anyone see the Ninja Warrior American Ninja Challenge II last night? It was pretty good. I love that show but I think they made the first course way too hard.

Dean 2008-11-11 07:30 PM

Sasuke 21, AKA the latest Ninja warrior starts playing tomorrow at 8PM on G4 and repeats a number of times during the next week. Five 1/2 hour segments, plus an hour on the American 'team starting at 7PM.
