Tire Decision - Tomorrow

Well since I have the rims finally, I am going to get tired mounted tomorrow.

I have decided it will be 215/45/17's instead of the 225's. I have heard of rubbing issues on the wagon once springs are on it. So now I just have to decide on the tires. Origionally I was going to go with S0-3's and still might.

Kuhmo 712's for like 86$ per tire

Kuhmo MX's for like 115$ per tire

Bridgestone S-03's for like 150$ per tire

Any other suggestions? Which would you recommend. These are for my summer/street use rims. I will have track rims soon also.

Well, I have the MX's as you know, and I like them A lot. And TODAY  , I got to try them in the pouring ass rain  !!, and they did very well. I have heard S0-3's are awesome tires!,, BUT shit, if you are going to use them for auto-x and lots of street use I can't see buring through S0-3's is worth it unless you have money to burn. Tires are very important, and I think the MX's are well worth it.

Yokos avs E100s are probably a little bette street tire, and cheaper...

Check them out..

Well Tirerack pretty much made the decision for me. They were out of Kuhmo MX's, Yoko ES100's, and S-03's.

So I went with the Kuhmo Supra 712's. 215/45/17. I will have everything on tomorrow for the drive :D

I was very happy with the 712's on my 18's, but I decided to try a tire that'll last a little longer and will ride a bit quieter since I've finally got some dedicated track tires. That's why I hit up the Falzen Azenis ST115's on the P1's.

You'll like the 712's... IMO they're the best street tire bang for the buck.

I will sure find out tomorrow. I am also going by Firestone to pick up that lifetime dealeo. Might as well now that I will be switching out rims more often.

Dude, you don't need an alignment every time you swap rims... only need it when you've hit somthing, or after changing ride-height of the car!

ArthurS 2003-08-22 01:20 PM

Springs will be on by Lovelock.....I will need a alignment then!

The Kuhmo 712's. Tirerack had no MX's or ES100's or S-03's in stock.

tysonK 2003-08-25 06:57 PM

and they call themselves a tire store, what the hell!
I can do inventory better than that with darts through my eyes.
