Got done making my gauges bright red. (Pics)

Sup everyone.
The other night 100percentjuice and I were workin on my car makin the gauges all red. Man that was a tremendous pain in the ass doing that. It takes so long to clear out the back of that thing off but all in all i am very pleased with the results. All I need now is my Defi Ambers to complete the look! :D

Did you just do the condom swap on the stock bulbs? thats what it looks like to me.

and yeah we aleady ordered the lights for the odometer. We had leds for it but it didnt give us the look we wanted.

I don't remember if that picture is w/ the LEDs or the red bulb covers. I did LEDs 1st, and they looks great at night, but at twilight or when there was other light in the car (street lights, etc) the gauges looked spotty. So instead of adding another 40 LEDs to even out the light, I went to the bulb covers... not quite as bright, but much more even.

Looking at the pictures I'm pretty sure that's w/ the LEDs... note that the 20 is a little dimmer than the 100 in the speedo... or that the 3/4 area of the tach is dimmer than the 6... it became pretty noticeable when there's more ambient light.

How did you get your needles red like that too?

100_Percent_Juice 2007-03-01 11:50 AM

here is a pic of when I first replaced my stock bulbs with blue leds. Its way brighter then stock yet you can see how spotty it is. As soon as I get my car back I will take a pic with the led rings in it to show the difference.

Ok here is the best picture I could get of my current setup. This is with LED rings behind the gauges. This picture shows really well how even and bright it is yet for some reason this setting on my camera makes the plastic look all scratched. Obviously it looks awesome in real life. And you can see how much of a vast improvement the rings are over just replacing the bulbs like my above pic^.I will take a pic of The Chef's and Imprezif's when we get together next.
