300 was... (what do you think?)

...amazing. For once I wasn't disappointed that I blew $9.50 at the theaters.

... very good. it didn't disappoint me. friday, got to the theatre 45 minutes early and still had to sit 4 rows from the very front. i hated sin city. not a big fan of the comic book style narrating. but i didn't mind it too much in this movie. the action and graphics couldn't be beat. one of the very few movies worth getting on blu-ray when it comes out.

I think I may actually have to go see this based on viewer feedback and reviews. To be honest, I didn't expect much from it at first.

Given how expensive blu-ray players are, it seems to be a challenge finding any movies that are worth getting on that format :P

Wait, what? Blu-ray?

If anybody else hasn't seen this by the end of the week, I'm down for a mini-meet.

Now dont be silly, just get a Ps3.

I thought visually the movie was awesome definately one for blu-ray if your going to get it. Yet for some reason it reminded me of a mix between Stargate and The Scorpion King. And while some dialog parts seemed to drag on, the movie in general seemed short to me. I thought it was pretty good, but perhaps my taste in movies has changed and simple murder death kill doesnt quite do it for me anymore.

The fighting is what really made me love this movie. Or maybe it was how the fighting was filmed.

PS3 is not exactly a worthwhile purchase at $600 when one already has an XB360 and a Wii (and a PSP, a DS lite, a DS, a GBA SP, a PS2, an N64, an SNES, an NES, and an Atari 2600. . .). There's just not enough exclusive software. Perhaps when MGS4 is out and the price has gone down. . .

I think I'll be more likely to pick up the HD-DVD drive for the 360. Ultimately, though, I want neither - I'm opposed to supporting either side in what really amounts to a few companies stubbornly making things worse for the consumer and the industry. Useless format wars FTL. :(

So what do you have against Sega?

Altered Beast ftw!!

my ps3 has been collecting dust. waiting for resident evil 5. agree, hd wars are silly. hddvd vs bluray. 1080i vs 1080p which seriously i can't see the difference when i walk into an electronics retailer. unending arguments for each side but in the end, it's us that gets the poo.

Nothing. . .

It's not a matter of what I have against Sega, it's what I didn't have during the 8bit/16bit wars - money. I played plenty of Master System and Genesis games - I just couldn't get one of my own. I could only afford one at a time back then, and the NES and SNES had more games that appealed to me.

If it's any consolation, I did have a Dreamcast during its lifetime, and found it to be well worth owning before an N64. I also have some Genesis favs on the Wii, like Sonic and Toe Jam & Earl. Truth be told, I only purchased my N64 about two years ago, just before we phased them out of the store.

Sega did three of my favorite Xbox titles, as well (Panzer Dragoon Orta, Gunvalkyrie, and JSRF).

Oh, and I forgot that I have an excellent-condition Atari Lynx and a really beat-up Sega Game Gear sitting in a closet.
