Aaron got a new toy....

(and apparently speaks in the 3rd person  )

92 Legacy Sport Sedan (2.2l non-intercooled turbo)
WRX TMIC
RWD-converted 2.5RS transmission
WRX LSD R160/WRX axles
Tein Flex coilovers (GC8 fitment)
99 2.5RS wheels (one of my old sets)
01 RS wheels (amazingly, not one of my old sets)
Grant steering wheel (will be replaced with a QR setup)
Alpine MP3 deck
I think that's it. Needs some little stuff sorted out, and some new tires (who would have thought?) If anyone has some cheap 16" tires (205/50 or 205/55) they want to get rid of, let me know :D
For now, I'm enjoying having my own car back (and the wagon should be back shortly as well)

Man, that's actually pretty pimpin! Nice!

RWD conversion? Drift car FTW!

JonnydaJibba 2007-03-29 07:05 AM

Nice. That's really clean.

cody 2007-03-29 07:08 AM

Nice! Does that vent actually draw air through the TMIC? Any plans to add a scoop?

Dean 2007-03-29 07:09 AM

Nice ride, and I'm sure that plate won't attract any unwanted attention from street racers and law enforcement. ;)

You need a job at Subway...

That is the scoop. :?:

cody 2007-03-29 08:25 AM

It's a wittle scoop. :p

Kevin M 2007-03-29 08:31 AM

Is that what she said?

MikeK 2007-03-29 08:32 AM

Nice find!

sperry 2007-03-29 08:57 AM

Yes, that scoop is sufficient since it's still running stock boost and was never intercooled in the first place. This thing isn't getting modded more than it already is; I've got to figure out a knock sensor issue that's putting it into limp before I mess with much else. Still, feels good to get into a 5-speed again.

That thing is so awesome.

ScottyS 2007-03-29 03:17 PM

Cool old-schoolness.

-1 for RWD though, that's what pickups are for. -1 for no wagon. All that work into it tranny-wise, and no wagon? Eeesh.

Wait... Aaron's had like 5 different AWD Wagons, and is the internationally recognized Don of the Wagon Mafia... he can't have a RWD sedan on the side? You wagon freaks have one hell of a "what have you done for me lately" mentality! :P

wrxkidid 2007-03-29 04:42 PM

wagon guys are weird...:P

Basically, this was in a lot better shape than the wagon I picked up, so I made a command decision. I don't live in the snow (*cries*), and with the STi I'll have 2 AWD Subarus in addition to the hooligan beater, so why not? :)

Plus, the rear sets fold down and I can fit a whole set of wheels and tires in the trunk with them up, so as far as not being a wagon goes, it's the next best thing :D

rubberbiscuitt 2007-03-29 06:03 PM

awesome car. i still didn't see if the "scoop" draws into the tmic or is it the stock turbo chimney.

left footed whooten 2007-03-29 07:14 PM

So long as there's a still a wagon in the family.....nice find on the SS!

sybir 2007-03-29 10:49 PM

Always a wagon in the family :D

The scoop feeds the WRX I/C, and at the stock 8lb boost levels, it stays nice and cool. Originally, it did feed the chimney, but that's no longer on the car.

Ok, ok, you can't expect to be the Wagon Don and not get your balls busted for "having something on the side".........;-)

I guess it will be like owning a go-kart.

I admit it......there was a beautiful RX on the Reno Craigslist a few months ago.......I called on it......already sold.......*sob*
