Need Printers:

Well, I am dying for some real nice cards. I have seen tons of nice WRX's this weekend. We need to find a good printer. Any recommendations? IF not, we can just poke through the phone book.

Debbie's cards she printed on her own printer looked 10x better then the samples we recieved from Maverick Printing. So we know it can be done.

Okay, I called 2 seperate printers today and gave them the samples and info. They are going to email me back back with pricing and drop off samples hopefully before this Thursday :)

I think I saw an ad in Sunday paper for Office Depot or Office Max, sale price on business card printing. Should we check w/them too?

Sure...even though I think the people they having working behind there desk aren't as qualified. I may be wrong, but I went in there to get my SCCA card laminated, and they screwed up twice! So I went to Kinko's instead. Maybe they hve a seperate department?

Okay....Scott....

Both printers are saying that the best way to get rid of the non-sharpness of the logo is to make the card into Vector format. Since I am idiot when it comes ot this stuff....I don't know how difficult that would be. Can it be done?

Yeah, I could re-do it with a vector format... however, unless you're gving 'em a different image than the one I gave you, it's a 600dpi image... that's pretty high resolution... high enough that the pixelation shouldn't be easily visible. Maybe it has to do with their printing method.

Converting to vector format will take me a few hours... that car's gonna be a biotch!

Both new printers have said that the 600dpi is a good thing, but still comes out blotchy on anything with a bitmap format or something along those lines.

Something about having layers and having it uneditable and flatening....

I should have taken notes... :?

Interesting, must have to do with the way a large volume printer works... I rally don't know much about the way they print cards!

I'll see if I can't find some time to work on a vector version tonight.
