Anyone have first hand experience with...

DCCD / ABS light ?

my abs light came on yesterday, the car is stuck in 5050 lock mode. the auto thing works and the knobber still changes the lights like its supposed to. BUT its clearly locked out. outside wheel chirps every slow turn.

i checked the forums and i ran the dtc codes. i pull a 33 and a 37, however those are abnormal solenoid valve problems. i checked eveyrthing i could. there is no problem, but i cant reset the code. only thing i havent tried is a negative terminal pull.

any ideas ?

Sounds like your low gear oil issue caught up with you? :(

If you've got a solenoid failing, you'd get some weird DCCD reaction I would guess... but the only way to really get this sorted is at the dealership IMO. The DCCD isn't going to be easily worked on in your garage. Hell, you can't even check the inputs to the center diff w/o an oscilloscope.

i have a fluke oscilloscope. :) however the solenoid valve problems seem electrical, which means i can fix it.

Is the DCCD accessible via OBD2? I know on my Audi you can talk to all sorts of other modules via OBD2. Unfortunately my Audi VAG/COM software is Audi/VW specific.

i dont believe so, i think you have to use a DTC device. not really sure how that works, havent seen one.

Did you plug in your AP and see if it tells you anything? It might see the codes.

Well, you can check the output of the DCCD controller to the diff to see if it's sending bad info, or if the problem is internal to the tranny itself. I don't remember the specs, but there's only two wires that go to the diff, and there's a duty cycle signal on the lines that determines the lockup amount.

If you see the same signal regardless of the DCCD switch settings, then your issue is in the controller. If it's matching the specs, you're problem is in the way the diff is responding to the signal.

I think the specs for the DCCD and wiring are somewhere here: http://www.seccs.org/tech

Is there a particular reason you don't want to take it down to Lithia and have them scan it? If you ask nice, they may do it for free.

dayofpain 2007-12-02 11:24 PM

read the thread on nasioc.

i did have it scanned. the exodus continues....

Well, it should be covered... it's not like any of your mods should cause an issue with the ABS sensors.

I'm just glad it's not a trashed center diff!

dayofpain 2007-12-04 12:02 PM
