Credit Card changes billing date...?

So I've had automatic payments setup on my CC for like 5 months and all the sudden I get a late payment fee.

My card in through xxxx. And my auto payment is through their site of course. My payments were set at the 4th of the month because my statements I got always had the 10th on them as the date.

But all the sudden my shit is due on the 2nd!!!?!? And I have a fucking late payment. Do I not understand something here? xxxx knew my fucking auto payment was on and decided to fuck me? The chick on phone said my billing cycle was the same. So why didn't I get 5 late payments?:mad:

I already paid the car off and canceled it but I'm pretty pissed.

I watched a documentary called "Maxed out" about the credit card industry. Apparently randomly changing the due dates to drum up late fees is an actual tactic that credit card companies use.

I saw that movie title on netflix but didn't give it a second glance. How was it?

If I ever get a late fee, I just call up and say something like, "Oh gee, I didn't get my statement in the mail this month and just plumb forgot since I didn't get the statement." They give you one free out a year. They'll remove late fees and interest based charges, basically extending the grace period by a month. Pretty cool.
