Smokers, FTL!!!

OK, so on Dec 24th, my roommates' mother moved in. Well, my roomie neglected to tell me that her mother smokes.

I HATE THE SMELL OF CIGARETTE SMOKE!!!!!

So, the first afternoon everything is ok, I am not aware of the smoking yet. That night as I am getting ready for bed, more so putting my son to bed, I smell cigarette smoke. So, I send a messege to my roomie,

"Tammy, the cigarette smoking has got to stop. It is killing me."

She responds back, sorry it is my Mother. She is only smoking in her room. I respond back with something like, that doesn't matter because the HVA system is going to transfer the smoke throughout the house. I tell her the last thing I need is for my son to be around smoking. She again responds with an apoligy.

So, Christmas morning I wake up to a house full of cigarette smoke. This morning, I am woke up by the cigarette smoke. So, proir to to posting this, I checked out Craigslist for roommates wanted. God, I hope I can find a place that is smoke free.

Weaksauce dude. :(

MPREZIV 2007-12-26 09:57 AM

That does suck. I don't even smoke in my own house for crap's sake! OR my car! It just leaves a DISGUSTING smell behind.

NevadaSTi 2007-12-26 10:06 AM

Yes it does. I don't mind if people smoke, that is their issue. But when they force me to smoke too, I begin to have a problem with it.

Check here Brian- http://reno.craigslist.org/roo/519282821.html

I talked to that guy before getting my place here. Nice enough guy, and I think one of the roommates there has a big puppy that wouuld love to see your dog around. Great location too.

I would kick the crap out of someone smoking in my house/car. It doesn't matter how old they are either. That is so disrespectful to assume that you can just light up in someones house. Especially if they have children. I get so pissed off when I am driving and I see someone smoking in their car with all the windows up except for a crack on the driver side and a small child in the backseat. http://images.nasioc.com/forums/images/smilies/diaf.gif

That issue of smoking in a car with children, makes me want to have a little road rage. But then again, that would be putting that child into even more danger. :(

The issue is, it is the Mother of the lady who owns the house. I asked her to do something about it, and she more or less just threw up her hands as if there was nothing she could do. The owner doesn't like the fact that her mother smokes, but is not willing to put her foot down about it. So, that is why as soon as I can find a place to live, I am out of here.

Anyone need a roommate?

I don't smoke, do drugs and my dog lives with my brother. My son is only here for a week ever 6 months or so now that he is in school. So, if anyone has a room they wouldn't mind renting out, I would entertain the idea.

I have a 2 BDR condo for rent in the South Reno area, $900 a month. If you happen to find a roommate and need a nice quiet place to live, let me know.

NevadaSTi 2007-12-26 11:10 AM

Thank you, I will keep that in mind.

Can you send me the address?

khail19 2007-12-26 11:16 AM

4708 Rio Poco Rd, Reno, 89502

Rio Poco is right off of S. McCarran, near Mira Loma.

Wow, good location. Expecially since my work is less than 5 minutes away from there.

That's awesome. It's really a nice place, my wife and I lived there for over a year when we first got married.

If it's got a fenced yard and you can handle allowing dogs, I will be very highly interested come May when my lease is up...

No yard, just a small enclosed patio. Plenty of room around the common property for dogs to run around, but they need to be leashed or closely watched.

Think of the tires you could buy with all your "smokes" money...

Sometimes it takes practice.

NevadaSTi 2007-12-31 08:08 PM

Has my thread become a New Years Resolution thread?

Dean 2008-01-01 07:35 AM

Only if it is your roommate's Mom's NYR... Otherwise it is just another normal SECCS sidetracked thread...
