I think my mircowave is irradiating me.

I parked my car outside my apartment today at lunch. The windows in my apartment were open, and while I was cooking my hotdog in the microwave I heard the warning chirp on my car go off outside.

I looked outside and there was nobody near my car. I checked my hot dog and decided it wasn't hot enough, so I turned on the microwave again, and hear my warning chirp go off again! By now my roommate Matt and I have noticed the corelation, and are in disbelieve. We procede to turn the microwave on and off another 5 or 6 times, and each time, about 5 seconds after turning it on, my car alarm would chirp.

So it seems like my microwave is putting out RF at the same frequency used by the proximity sensor on my car alarm, and at a strength strong enough to go thru my apartment, all the way to the parking lot outside! I just hope all the microwaves are staying in the oven and aren't cooking the cooks as well as the hot dogs.

"Hey Matt, is it warm in here, or is it just me?"

I was over at a building today at work that has an accelerator in it that puts out very high radiation levels when in operation... we walked through the corridor that runs beside it along the length and when we got to the end we met one of the guys who runs the place...

Operator: (Pointing to the corridor we just walked through) "Hey when you guys are in here you should be careful and not stand in front of some of the areas along the corridor here, there are a few breaks in the concrete shielding that let some radiation through."

Me: "Ummmmmm... yeah, I'll keep that in mind..."
