New Guy

Hello everyone! :D

My name is Jake and I've recently... acquired... a new subaru. I've been over at the NASIOC forums, looking for a local chapter and found none. I did a quick google search and found you guys. :P

Anyway, to keep this short, I drive an 08 Impreza 2.5i base model which I hope to mod eventually.

Thanks and I hope to meet everyone next Thursday.
Jake

Cool beans. Nice to meet you tonight.

It was a small meet, but at least you finally found us.

Dean 2008-03-13 08:07 PM

Welcome. Nice meeting your for 5 seconds tonight. :) Normally there are more than three of us. Where were the rest of you wimps? The first Daylight Savings meet so it isn't dark and only Tyson Nick and I show up.

For sure. Hopefully SECCS is going to be a lot more helpful than random people over the internet when I begin modding.

WRX06TR 2008-03-13 08:11 PM

Come out to the Autocross school on April 5th and drive/ride with us.

Learning to drive the snot out of it stock will help you decide what to do first.

Jeikun 2008-03-13 08:17 PM

Thanks for the warm welcomes. ^_^

I'm definitely interested in the autocross school. What are the details?

Calculus on thursday nights is keeping me away. :(

Snowboard season is almost over... the car needs a ton of work done to it, but I should start showing back up pretty soon. :) Welcome to the board

Sorry I missed the meet. My parents came into town a day early to miss the weather over the pass and I couldn't come out.

I'm working on those and will post something by the weekend, but plan to be at Stead Airport by 8:00 on Saturday April 8th with your car cleaned out and at least 1/3 of a tank of gas.

You might also want to get on RenoSCCA.org. It has a mailing list for upcoming events and a set of forums as well.

Jeikun 2008-03-13 10:04 PM

It's on my calendar. Is there any kind of cost?

Yes. $15 weekend membership and $25/day for the event. If you decide to become a full member some or all of your weekend membership is applied.

Jeikun 2008-03-13 10:17 PM

So $40 total. By full member, you mean a membership at the track/airport or with SCCA?

Full SCCA Membership is between $45 and $75+++ I think depending on age and if you have family joining as well. So about 3-5 weekend's worth of events.

Jeikun 2008-03-13 10:26 PM

Alrighty. I'll look into it.

Bob Danger 2008-03-14 02:39 AM

I didn't show because I was drunk, and still am by the way.

zpeed 2008-03-14 05:40 AM

I'll miss all the meeting til the tax season end. No I'm not an accountant but my wife is. I have to pickup kids from school, cook dinner and get them ready for bed.

Welcome Jake!

Oh, and since everyone is dishing out excuses, I had to do a timing belt/water pump/cam seals on my car last night, and by the time I was done, the meet wasn't happenin'...

100_Percent_Juice 2008-03-14 07:45 AM

I was driving opposite on arrowcreek and passed a few people. Probably everyone who showed up, psm 04-05, black evo, silver 08 sedan.
