Are these good? Better than my axxis ultimates?

JonnydaJibba 2008-03-20 04:10 PM

I've tried to figure out the answer to that question. From what I gather, the only difference is that the Ultimates bite harder, but dust more. Please to enlighten if anyone cars.

HPS>>>>>>Ultimates.

thats not what Johnny said

They only had one set to get rid of anyway. A pair of rears. It would be heck of sweet of you to enlighten with more than arrows.

cody 2008-03-21 08:13 AM

Those are alligator mouths, not arrows! Ultimates definately dust more, but that's all I got.

Kevin M 2008-03-21 08:18 AM

I liked the HPS better in every relevant way. Why do you think you got those Ultimates so cheap in the first place Jon?

JonnydaJibba 2008-03-21 08:21 AM

That was a screamin deal. Maybe I'll get HPSs just so I can see which I like better personally. It seems like people like em both. But I think you are the only person I have spoken to that has used both sets.

FWIW, I just ordered a set of Porterfield R4-S for the wagon. I am pretty convinced, based on what I've read from other people, I should like these a lot.

cody 2008-03-21 08:48 AM

You will. The only possible downside is cost and longevity (of the pads, not the rotors). I'm still on OEM rotors.

Joeyy 2008-03-24 08:26 AM

I ran the Porterfield R4-S last year on the wagon and loved them. On the second lap at Lovelock they even felt better and they'll last a full season in my opinion. Speaking of brakes, its time to get back out to the garage and work on the K*&#.
