Paint Supply

So some cocksucker motherfucker asshole prick decided to open not just one but both doors into the side of my car at Costco last weekend. There are a couple of creases and an area of bare steel. Does anyone have experience with an auto paint supply shop in Reno? And can the average Steve go in and buy paint in this state? I would like to fix the damage myself.

On another note, it is rather interesting how easily the primer flakes off of the steel on my car -- could be why I seem to have an extraordinary number of paint chips on my car...

Long ago I purchased auto paint from these guys:
Re-Neva Paint Supply Co
Reno, NV
(775) 352-2510

They were great. It's been years though.

Last auto paint I got was from a shop in Carson, next to Napa on Hyw 50. Crap paint flaked off after two years.

Sorry to hear about the door dings. Don't get me started!

That sucks Dude.

I have a nice dent in my hood from parking too close to the lodge at Mt. Rose this Winter. I can't tell if someone put their ski boot on my hood or what. Fortunately the 3M material I have on the hood protected the paint...the aluminum hood dents way too easily though.

THanks for the suggestion Theo. I'll try them for what I need.

Cody, yeah, I've always been worried about the hood. Mine is just speckled white from stone chips. What I can't believe is that once this asshole hit my car with the front door, they decided it was okay to open the back door just as hard... :unamused: :furious:

I also used Re-Neva a couple of years back, very reasonable prices and very well stocked. I believe they are still located on Longley.

Probably related to the lazy mf who left their shopping basket loose at the grocery store parking lot, which the wind blew into the side of my car!

Yeah, that sucks. It got windy out yesterday afternoon and there were herds of shopping carts running wild!

Did you ever make it to Re-Neva?! If you did I hope they took care of you like they did me.

Good to know they still take care of people. Glad I could help, and good luck with the paint

You also posted a note about your good experience at the time, in the vendors & parts review thread. Thanks for doing that. That helps, when others might go looking (IF they do a search!).

SteveM 2008-04-17 10:36 AM

Yeah, honestly, I was a n00b and didn't search for anything about paint before I posted this...
