I don't see anything. Livemaps is better anyway.

You have to click on street view and then click on any street that is highlighted in blue.

You saw Deja Vu, right?

JonnydaJibba 2008-06-25 08:09 AM

It only works in certain cities. It helped me find the Fillmore in San Fran. Pretty nifty.

^Nice. lol

There's a good view of my car in the parking lot at work for Street View. I just realized they had this for Reno yesterday. A few months ago, there was one going around like that where you could see a drug deal going down in Chicago, but Google updated SV since then. I wonder what forms of debauchery I can find going down in Reno. lol

MattR 2008-07-02 11:40 AM

Haha

It is a little creepy. The fact that it's a 360 degree view in like 20 ft increments is pretty amazing. Can't imagine the time it would take to complete that.

ScottyS 2008-07-02 03:15 PM

It's nice they finally got Reno on there.

One of our grad students can find her grandpa unloading groceries in New York, haha.

I bet it's a car w/ a GPS controlled 360deg digital camera on the roof. The car just has to drive around and around, and the camera archives all the pictures automatically.

I believe that's exactly what it is.

Can you imagine how many miles have to be driven to get the street view for almost every street of every major city....They should just throw them on top of mail trucks and let them do the work for them :)

I'm sure Google can afford to pay some guy to drive around a city for 8 hours a day for a week to hit all the streets.

Nick Koan 2008-07-03 12:58 PM

Well, the van hasn't gone by my house yet (or at least it hasn't been uploaded to the googleplex yet).

cody 2008-07-03 01:02 PM

I was surprised to see that it's gone by my house but Google Map still doesn't know the name of my street!

MattR 2008-07-03 01:10 PM

cody 2008-07-03 01:35 PM
