I has a dumb maintenance question...
So, I decided to do a coolant change today because i was up at 33k and the dropping ambient temps made me feel like I should do it. Anyway, after a few cycles of starting my car and topping off the coolant I realized that it wasn't going to take anywhere near the 7.6 liters (about 2 gallons). I also realized that I probably messed up by not having the car be level while draining the coolant, the front was jacked up but not the back. The question is...do I run a risk of messing anything up by leaving so much old coolant in the car? I did add in the Subaru Cooling Conditioner and a little over 1 gallon of mixed coolant. Thanks in advance...

How did the stuff you drained look? Did you save some? Take it's specific gravity. Testers are el cheapo at Walmart.
Heck, just check the stuff now in the system. |
Umm...it was green...it looked a little lighter color that the new stuff...

Test the stuff in the car and be done.

What am I looking for?

bugs and leaves.

The tester will be like a small turkey baster and will have balls that float or don't based on how much antifreeze is present. Go buy one.
