head gasket
im rebuilding a enige for my legacy i bought wiseco pistons and they came with head gaskets but the rebiuld kit i have israted for 500 to 1000 horsepower has thicker gaskets which should i go with
|
Forced induction with larger turbo and tuning, use the thicker gasket. NA, use the thinner IMHO.
If you aren't sure if the head and block are flat, use the thicker. |
I was under the impression that OEM gaskets were usually the best option, but I'm not sure if that applies to engines outside of the EJ205/EJ257 blocks.
|
To be honest, if I had that question, I'd post it on NASIOC and include the brand names of the gaskets and complete details on your setup. If you do, please post a link here. :)
Oh, and Welcome to SECCS! |
thicker is better
thanx guys im actualy putin a turbo kit made by subaru made just for my car eletronics and all so ill probably go with the thicker gaskets
|
Got a link or more info on said kit? Thicker is theoretically better when adding a turbo to a N/A motor as it should lower your compression a tad.

Is this the kit? http://www.spomotorsports.com/Catego...tomerID=201582
Is the "Perfect Power Computer" a standalone or a piggyback? Will the car be smogable? |
