Fallout 3 Spoilers Thread
Since peoples wus complainerin', here's the thread to talk about Fallout 3. Stop reading if you care about spoilers.
Here's my question, where do I get Dogmeat? I heard it was in a scrap yard or something... |
One people cried...:p
I just got him a couple days ago. I think maybe it was around the Big Town or Scrapyard area. I'm pretty sure in was in that general area of the map. I just remember turning around and he was standing right in front of me. |
Here's a spoiler.
James is actually your father. |
Oh that was a joke.
|
Well, we can make it a minor spoilers/help thread if necessary. Or just a random discussion thread.
|
I think to minimize the spoiling to people who don't want to learn about certain parts the location you are talking about and perhaps level you are at should be posted at the beginning of each post. ?
Haha, I didn't think there would be enough interest to matter. |
Vault 106! WTF?
|
Vault 106 is awesome :D
|
I still haven't gotten there yet.
Did anyone find the UFO yet? I have alien power cells and am looking for the alien device they power. :) http://planetfallout.gamespy.com/wik...#Alien_Blaster |

wow... i just beat the game. and all i can say is... what now. (those of you who have beat the game can understand that) i still dont know if i liked how it ended or not. i had 22k caps when i finished it :)
|
There are 300 different ending combinations. :)
|
What is an ending combination? How many "just endings" are there?
|
Either way the ending is the same.

So who is lying here? Kunikos or Dewy? I could look up the answer myself but I'm afraid I'll get spoiled.
|
No one is lying.
|
So it takes things you have done in the game and makes an ending out of it based on how you played? And that ending is always the same? That makes sense.
|
Well, the ending changes obviously based on what you've done, but its all done in the same style and all kinda looks the same with the same voiceovers and the same looking vignettes.
I think the endgame is cool, but the cinematic ending sequence is pretty boring and although there are 300 different ending combos, they all end up looking the same with minor differences. |
Ah, I see. Thanks dude.
|
That's a little disappointing. The ending vignettes for Mask of the Betrayer were significantly different based on the morality of your character and the amount of influence you gained with various people and the choices you made along the way. For example, you could be a planes-hopping hero who gets married to one of the companion NPCs or you could be a force of malevolent destruction that demigods are trying to fight and your other companions souls were all eaten by you. :)

P.S. the mods out for the PC are pretty fantastic considering there is no SDK yet
http://www.fallout3nexus.com I would recommend checking out the Cross Repair mods, they're pretty nice for such an artificial limitation on the game mechanics. Also, SagerFO3 rebalance and VATS MCE do various gameplay tweaks to make things a little more logical (reduced aiming if your arms get crippled, reduced movement if your legs get crippled, aiming is based more on skill and less on distance in the formulas the game uses, etc). Also the Robco Certified perk mod is pretty pimp, you can make your own temporary robot minions. |
