Need Help with injectors

I got my new UR Injectors i need some help installing them i have to splice into the harness and solder some wires i thought since the event today was cancelled ill work on it.

Hit me up if anyone is interested..

You don't want to change injectors until you can change your tune. If you have an AccessPort or something and a new map ready to go, then go ahead.

ok thats a good idea i need to hook up with a tuner then before i do this thanks.

What kind of injectors did you get that require a change to the harness????

Most any top feed Subaru injector should be plug compatible I thought for a WRX.

Even going from a side feed to top feed on an STI, I believe you can change the plastic portion of the plug without changing the wiring.

The URs are low impedance (or high impedance, whatever is the opposite of stock, I forget) and therefore require some creative wiring to add the converter box inline with the stock wiring.

with the URs you need to cut into the harness and solder the injector connectors and resister pack..

the URs are low impedance.. I have the wiring chart looks fairly easy but we all know that its not...

Ouch. Did not realize that. Any reason you bought those over the PEs which I believe are high impedance?

I hate cutting into harnesses. You would think they would make a plug and play harness adapter.

PE's have *terrible* latency. For example the PE800's latency is so high, the field in the Hydra map can't even be programed that high (1.1ms is the max, and the PE800's are 1.6ms @ 14V). The PE850 side-feeds are at least about half as bad as the PE800's...

Either way, the UR's have very low latency, which allows them to effectively flow more w/o spraying fuel like a hose, because they can run longer per stroke. That gives you much more control at low RPMs, better tip-in, etc. The only down-size is the stock ECU can't drive them, so you end up needing that resistor pack spliced in. And I believe there's a real reason for the lack of a plug-n-play harness... but I don't know what it is.

But apparently, the Hydra can drive low-impedance injectors... I wonder if I can drive some URs w/o needing that resistor pack... :?: That might be an option for solving my idle and tip-in issues caused by my PE800s.

That sucks... I thought the story was there were so many more top feed choices, but it looks like in the 700-800 range, which is a pretty standard bump for the 2.5l, there is only one worth bothering with and you have to hack the harness???

I haven't looked recently, but I thought there were 2 or 3 side feed choices around that flow rate including machining the stock STI ones.

Sounds like the selection issues with struts for my car. The only struts with true fitment for a wagon are KYB GR2's and I think Ohlins. :~:

Oh, and obviously Koni inserts. :)

Have you checked gtworx.com? They go by racecomp engineering as well I think. Drew always takes care of me on all my suspension stuff, but they actually specialize in Subies. The AST's are really nice, Im of course a big fan of KW, and they actually make their own custom setup Racecomp coilovers. All are in the 2k range on gtworx. They carry ohlins flag series as well, but those are 3500 haha.

Oh and heres upgraded springs made just for a wagon with upgraded struts!

There are wagon specific coilovers. The Tein Flex wagon specifics seem to do really well. Joeyy on here used to regularly kick my ass in ESP in a similarly modded wagon and now K-Dogg (Kevin) runs them and loves them too. But I like the comfort and dependability of springs and struts.

These are the springs I run: http://www.crucialracing.com/products/springs.php. I wonder how they compare to the RCE ones.

We're (Alex and Nick Clarke) planning on installing the Konis next weekend (not this weekend). You should join us.
