Let's talk about how I can't keep a review thread on topic!

And as a new resident to Reno I'm glad I can hear stories of problems at lithias service dept. (not putting them down) but most ppl these days don't have the money for service depts to make mistakes.

So my question is where do u guys prefer to take ur cars for service?

Most of us do our own maintenance. A lot of us go to Nissan because we can ask Cory (MPREZIV) to do the work. C&C is another favorite.

WTF does Allison have to do w/ Lithia's service dept.?

cody 2009-04-08 09:09 AM

They're an alternative for service.

So, create an Allison review thread.

cody 2009-04-08 09:12 AM

No, I'm good with my post here.

How about we just have one thread we all post in, and then just expect the moderators to sort every post into the proper location. That would be totally efficient.

cody 2009-04-08 09:27 AM

How about we never allow any tangential (yet relevant) posts and make a new thread every single time a post isn't 100% on topic. Following the conversation would be totally easy (after several searches).

I'm just saying, alternatives to crap are relevant to the topic of crap.

This is a small forum and can therefore get away with tangenital posts. Not like Nasioc where it clogs up the entire thread making it useless. I see your point and all, I just think you're being a little strict.

Cody is personally involved with the offender and thus his judgment is clouded.

Okay, now go read the very first rule about posting in the review forum in the sticky. If you want to have a conversation about it, take it to another forum.

We're pretty lax about this kinda stuff when compared to other forums. But it's helpful to keep the tech threads and reviews on topic, which is why we've got specific rules posted for those forums. And it's not like we go around punishing people for screwing up and posting in the wrong forums... but gimmie a break with this "No, I'm good with my post here" crap. :P

Haha, the title of this thread made me laugh, then I realized what had happened and ISWYDT. :alien:

You're personally involved with men.

sperry 2009-04-08 10:15 AM

Did you just repost the post I deleted?

You're on a roll today man, and you're now officially the first person on SECCS to get an infraction point! :P

cody 2009-04-08 10:20 AM

It was worth it.

sperry 2009-04-08 10:21 AM

Smells like sex in here.

cody 2009-04-08 10:29 AM

You must have penis on your uppper lip again.

Dean 2009-04-08 11:08 AM

My question would be why people feel compelled to respond to threads with drivel and off color comments like the above?

This place is more like a high school than a automotive enthusiasts forum.

cody 2009-04-08 11:12 AM

Or you're old. I'm sure there's a walker forum where no off color humor is allowed. :P

Dean 2009-04-08 11:15 AM

I did not use the word "humor" as teh funnah is seldom present. :P

tysonK 2009-04-08 12:20 PM

I usally think twice before posting crap on seccs, because I know wouldn't want to read it.

kinda sad really.

It's like someone making a stupid comment in a conference call and wasting 2 minutes of your time, I freaking hate that.

ScottyS 2009-04-08 04:30 PM

Just 2 minutes? Be honest.

wildfirefli 2009-04-09 09:52 AM

I like your quote scotty!
At least I'm not the offender this time.
:]
Everyone gets all mad at me cuz I'm a n00b and I don't know much and they all yell at me and keyboard commando me and it's kinda funny cuz i'm not trying to piss anyone off. I guess it just happens. Ha. not the first time! But, I don't really care. I'm just happy to drive my car n shit n I will just stick to asking people I know and like and have the patience for my shenanigans.

I suffer

ScottyS 2009-04-09 11:22 AM

Oh, you've been posting off an IPhone the whole time? That IS suffering!

Just keep this in mind: if you don't care that you're pissing the moderators off that have to keep cleaning up your threads, the moderators will eventually just get tired of dealing with you and end up banning you. And if you are only interested in one or two people's responses to your questions, just PM them directly instead of creating a tech thread that degenerates into a personal conversation, or worse an arguement with the people that are actually trying to help that you don't want to listen to.

And on an aside (please take this as friendly advice), if you find that you piss off a lot of people unintentionally, and that it happens over and over in different situations and with different people, you might want to start caring about it, because it's likey your problem and not the people that are getting pissed off.

DaveWRX 2009-04-09 02:29 PM

I've been posting on my itouch. And using a crappy Internet service haha
