yeah I saw that also.

Now that would make an excellent track car.

Hmmm. I could buy this right now. But, that is pretty expensive still for a salvaged title. I've seen some '05 STi's for about 16k on cars.com and autotrader.com. Hopefully I can get one soon. I'm looking for an OBP though.

For a 60K mile '05 it is probably worth $11-12K. 13 is a bit high for a salvage with that mileage that still needs work. I'd also want to put it in an alignment rack or at least take some measurements before making an offer.

The KBB price for a 60k '05 STi is still really high right now. Last I checked it was somewhere around 18-22k. So, essentially should a salvaged title bring it down half of the best KBB price?

Dean 2009-04-14 11:29 AM

STI. Salvage = 50-75% of KBB PP value, but only if 100% restored. This one still needs a hood an who knows what else. If he is asking 13, he will take 12 or maybe less.

My '02 WRX with 32K miles and a salvage title in great shape except sand damaged paint went for $10K a few years back. It looked great from 20 feet away. That one still looks like crap and may have suspension/frame issues and who knows what else.

The drive line may be worth $5-7K, and brakes and wheels worth maybe $2K. The rest ain't worth much as parts.

I wish I had $11,000 cash to offer for this car. That's what I want when I graduate to make my project car, as long as the frame isn't damaged
