Your trying to find bucket seats? I didn't know the TR came with a bench seat.

GusGus91 2009-04-30 09:06 PM

Don't laugh at my misfortune you bastard! Yea, the TR comes with regular impreza seats

DaveWRX 2009-04-30 09:22 PM

Actually by far I think the bugeye seats are the most comfortable

+1. The bugeye seats are the most supportive USDM Subaru seats I have ever been in.

The side bolsters on the seat and back are huge relatively speaking, and they are much narrower than the crappy STI seats.

What about some Evo Recaros? I thought they were very comfy, although you may catch some flack for it.

The STi seats really are not that great IMO, What about some reclining aftermarket buckets. They can get kinda pricey though.

GusGus91 2009-05-01 01:40 AM

Yea, I dont want the sti seats... But I want some kind of buckets. If I can, I want the seats that come stock in an 05. Maybe an 06 if i can find them. and I would LOVE some evo recaros. haha.

100_Percent_Juice 2009-05-01 05:32 AM

I have no idea what the TR seats look like. I assumed they were the same as wrx seats only with no airbags and cheaper looking fabric?

wrxkidid 2009-05-01 06:25 AM

Well I know of a guy that has one recaro for sale. Probably wouldn't be too hard to source another one...I can ask how much if would like.

Lemme clarify for you man...your TR has bucket seats, a bucket seat is a seat for one person versus a bench seat like the back seat or in a truck.

Secondly, if you change the seats in you TR you have to worry about the airbag sensors. The bladder that controls the passenger airbag is in the passenger seat. So if you pull that seat and get into a crash and the passenger airbag doesn't go, its on you.

I have looked into changing the seats in my TR and its just not worth the hassle in my opinion, or worth the risk. But anyway, 06/07 STi seats would be the only ones I would even consider switching because they both have the passenger bladder in the seat and they are plug and play.

Oh, okay. Thanks for clarifying that for me. Well then maybe I'll look save up for some 06/07 STi seats. I don't really wanna go through a bunch of hassle for a couple damn seats. But if they're plug and play like you said, then why the hell not. Thanks for the help on that.

WRX06TR 2009-05-01 12:14 PM

Sorry, not to sound harsh or rude at all. I have looked into it and its more hassle than its worth. I mean the seats aren't that bad. And if you are doing anything competitive like Autox just get a harness like I did. And even STi or earlier seats won't hold you like real racing seats. Like Robby said the Evo recaro's are great but then you lose all the airbag wiring. So if you ever do get different seats where you don't need the airbag sensors anymore just jump to Brides or Recaro's, real racing seats.

The only exception is JDM STi seats...but they cost so damn much you might as well ask Bride to make you a set custom. And I don't know if they have the airbag stuff...

GusGus91 2009-05-01 01:19 PM

Yea i looked at those JDM sti seats. they're like $2k. Which is ridiculous for seats. I guess ill just stick with them for now. Thanks for the help. and saving me a big hassle... and lots of money. hahah

Only $2k? Leather Recaros are over $2k each.

And now that were done talking about seats. Can we talk about Seats?

Scott, I sensed a change in your posts right about the time you got engaged. It's like how animals can sense an earthquake before it even happens. You have entered the 3 ring circus without even knowing it. The engagement ring, the wedding ring, and the suffering.

szucchet 2009-05-04 11:36 AM

my 07 wrx wagon i had had 1 piece seat, like the sti ones just in black and silver:alien::alien:
