WRX wing mounting hole size

Does anybody know the size of the holes that hold on the WRX wing (not the STi)? Does anybody have a WRX trunk laying around I could look at and maybe try a few things on it? Thinking about making some quality hole covers painted to match factory colors for wing deletion.

I did some similar washer nozzle deletes for some guys (see pics below). They are a little thinner now and look better in person and even better when paint matched.

I definitely see a bunch of people posting on nasioc about plugs. Have you figured out a price for a ”4 piece plug kit"? The reason I ask is because it also seems like most of those people are pretty cheap.

IIRC, it should be a 5-piece kit - there's a hole for the brake light harness as well.

The STi kit is the bugger- it's like 17 holes, lol.

^yea i think its like 11 or 13 holes for the sti wing.

I have a spare PSM trunklid with holes for the regular WRX wing. If you need to play around with it for a while it's fine with me, it's in my shed right now.

Let me know when you perfect this and how much it would cost. Very interested as I want to go wingless

PM sent, khail19. Thanks.

I would think the cost will be $30-$40 for a painted set. It might be less if I can find a nice push-in plug that works. If you think that is high please keep in mind that my fees and overhead are about 10% and I will have dealers wanting a 25% wholesale discount on them.

DaveWRX, your cost would be around my cost if I can get some pics of them.

I think that's a very reasonable price and everyone that's going the plug route would be willing to pay that. There are a lot of people who run an aftermarket wing for track etc. but then would like to take it off for street use and thus use the plugs. Would the paint on these plugs hold up to multiple installs and removals?

I dunno. I have a painted scoop delete that has been on and off my car numerous times without noticeable chipping.

I may make two types: one that is removable and one that is semi-permanent. The semi-permanent one would be flush and could be bondo'd and painted over... I think. In the pic below of a unpainted scoop delete (total block-off) see how flush the heads are? It is paintable with minimal filler without the heads showing.
